Nice pre smog motor, I picked up a 100k 75 and am getting rid of everything smog related. Going with the high flow efi era exhaust and the original intake plugged. Putting a 2 barrel 2150 on it with the adapter. I'm told it ran great and it turns over fine and the spark plugs look great, just on the lean side. Should I pull the head for inspection while it's on the stand?
@Quint18362 жыл бұрын
You sure can, it wouldn't hurt. However, a lean problem is not something to worry about. Most likely all in that old carburetor. But, if the motor is going to be out and on the stand, I think it's 12 nuts and she comes off. You could even send it to a machine shop and have them rebuild that head. She would run like a scalded dog after that. Let me know if you have any other questions. I'm happy to answer

My 300 has the 240 fuel pump and Ford did not have serial numbers on their block. You can also look at the oil pan. 300's have the drain plug coming out the back. 240's out the side. You can also count the distributor teeth. But that requires pulling the distributor. Which isn't hard. Make sure it's at TDC first
