The service center guy came and checked the tv and said it's a display problem which cost around 25k. He didn't even touch T-con panel. Should I show to some local tv repairer.? How much it should cost to repair? Please let me know brother, I have same tv as yours.

Worked for me too. Used hair dryer for 5-10 minutes to blow hot air in vents on back panel and tv started normally without 5 times red light blinking. But it's temporary solution, problem comes back so needs to be done again

Hello 😀. Yes, the TV should be replace with a new T-Con board. For the cost, I'm not sure whether it is pricey or not because I do the repair by myself 😕. Usually, if you get help from the Sony authorized technician, they will charge you alot. Expect around $100 to $150 worth of labour plus the T-con board cost 😀.

Hello 😃. Yes, it is true that some of the TV panel do have an integrated T-Con attached to it. If you suspected that the integrated T-Con is bad, you can try send the TV for repair, but usually, the repair cost would be high. Better for you to disassemble the TV and then sell the parts 😃. Hello 😀. No, the TV will not function if there is no T-Con board. Here is an advice, you can try warm up the back of the TV (or where the T-Con board is located) with a hairdryer. This will temporarily fix the TV but it is not really practical to do so because you do not want to waste 5 minutes just to switch on the TV 😂.

Hello 😀. Blue tint? 🤔 You mean blue screen? If your TV has blue screen, the LED Strip will not caused the problem. It is either the T-Con board that is faulty or the LCD panel is faulty 😀.

Hello farshadvamp 😀, you can try reset the picture setting first (Home>Setting>Display>Picture>Advanced Settings>Reset>) and then go to picture setting and choose the suitable picture setting like Picture mode, Brightness, Colour, Clarity, and Motionflow. It is recommended that, when you adjust the setting, make sure you have a video playing in the background, so that when you adjust the picture setting, you can see the differences when adjusting the setting like contrast, gamma, sharpness, black level, and etc 😀.

@@farshadvamp Did the new T-Con that you have bought has the same exact model number? Also, have you try reseat the LVDS and ribbon cable yet? Sometimes, those two cables has some oxidation on it. You can try clean it using an eraser GENTLY, because those ribbon cables are so fragile. Like me, when I installed the new T-Con board on the TV, the picture on the screen suddenly became distorted. When I reseated it back, voila! cystal clear hahaha 😀

@@LanesEngineering Dear cainaben, I deeply thank you for knowledge and time that you give it to me, as a matter a fact my technician recently changed that cable too, but it doesn't change anything, I also upgrade to the latest version, so my conclusion is that my new t con board doesn't have same function like old one. It came from China because I live in the country that is impossible to access fabric board. But once again I thank you friend.

Hello 😀. Mine was a faulty T-Con board. In my case, when I switched on the TV in the morning or when the TV is cold, it starts right up. When I switched off the TV and then I switched it back on, the white screen appears 😁.

I perform this heating process is because I want to confirm whether the T-Con board is faulty or not. In my case, the T-Con board is faulty and then I changed it with a new one 😀.

Hello 😀. It seems like you have the same problem like mine did. Usually, symptom of a faulty T-Con board is when the TV is 'cool', the screen appears white and when the TV is 'hot', it works like a normal TV. Try reheat the T-Con board and see whether it fix the problem or not 😁.

Hello 😀. Sorry for late reply 😅🙇🏻‍♂️. It is hard to justify wether the T-Con board or the LCD panel itself that is faulty. 'Usually', the T-Con board is the culprit. Have you try reseating the LVDS and ribbon cable? Also, try to reheat the T-Con board and see what happens. Do as much test on the T-Con board first and then you can justify wether it is faulty or not. You can also test the LCD panel using LCD panel tester. You need to have one of this device or you can borrow it from your local TV repair shop 😀.

Hello 😀. Yes, the T-Con board is likely to fail because of excessive heat accumulated inside of the TV back cover. Be sure to attach an external USB exhaust fan at the vent around the TV back cover. After I replaced the T-Con board, I casually watched it for around 2-3 hours. The T-Con board did last around 1.5 years, something like that. When the 'new' T-Con board failed, I did not heat it up because I was too lazy to open back the TV back cover 🤣. Hope that helps 😁.

@@LanesEngineering thanks man. 1.5 years is good for a replacement t con. heating in my case. i just heated using a hair dryer on the back cover through the vents with out opening the panel. and it works and yes i was planning the same exhast fan in the back panel. thanks for sharing.

Hello 😃. Did you bought a refurbished T-Con board? Refurbished T-Con usually do not last long. Also, what online platform did you use when you bought the T-Con board? Here is a suggestion, you can try search for the T-Con board (make sure it is new and not refurbished) on AliExpress. There are tons of sellers out there in AliExpress. You just need to see the customers' review about the T-Con board that the sellers sell wether it is good or not and you can decide which seller is good or not. Also, make sure the T-Con part number is the same as yours. Goodluck trying to find one 😃👍🏻.

@@LanesEngineering I bought it from Shopee. Seller claim it is a new board. I tried to analyze the new board and it seems it is not compatible with my TV model. I noticed a different board part number compared to orig board based on barcode sticker. Marking on PCB is confusing. It is a PCB marking that can be used for different TV model but components may vary depending on feature of TV. Thank you very much for your inputs!

Iya, bisa jadi T-Con board ataupun Chip On Film (COF) yang merusak. Biasanya, panas berlebihan menandakan short circuit. Jadi, kamu harus kenal pasti di mana short circuitnya 😀.

Hello 😀. First, you can try reset the TV by unplugging the power cable and then press the start button for 30 minutes to remove all the stored electricity inside the TV. If that did not work, (*Note: if you are not confident to disassemble your TV, do not do it) you can try reseat the LVDS cable and T-Con ribbon cables by removing it and then connect it back together. Also, if that did not work, consult your TV technician. You do not want to go any further when trying to find a fault on your TV as this is more likely for you to do more damage to your own TV like damaging the LCD panel 😀.

My Tv is working now after 2-3 hr i just removed main power cable which is connected to back with adpater and pressing back panel of TV power button on-off after two time pressing my TV start automatically.. so i am happy now.. @@VIJAY-be8mb In my experience, it is more likely to occur again, just like my TV. After I changed the T-Con to a new one, voila! It works like a charm 😀.

Fortunately, no issues at all at first. But now, the TV do have some issues. I believe that the mainboard was toasted because the T-Con was new, not refurbished. The issue was, when my family and I watched the TV, the first hour was OK. But after that, the TV panel shows some double image with white flush and ghosting effect. Now, I have another TV, surely not Sony 😁.

I believe that the T-Con will not spoil the mainboard because it is new. Also, I do believe that, all the components inside the TV, like the mainboard, T-Con, backlight, and the TV power adapter, last around 3.5 to 4 years only. Why? Because some of the manufacturers use really cheap electronic components like the capacitors. Even the TV panel itself, I thought Sony made it, but it was Winstron brand. Recently, I've just ordered a new LVDS ribbon cable for the TV and I will try to replace the old one with the new one 😃.

@@LanesEngineering I have my another TV (Samsung) repaired recently by home visit. They came and replaced one of the board. It died off after 2 hours viewing. They came and collect the TV back to their shop to repair and saying the new board caused the other board failed. So they repair it FOC.

Hello 😃. Before you replace the main board, does the TV shows any error lights? Also, usually the T-Con board connect after the main board and before the LCD panel. Here is a link for you to check wether this is the correct T-Con board for your TV or not.

Before the replacement of main board, the tv powers up and turns on with backlight and no red errors lights. There was sound but no display, just grainy picture on screen. After the replacement of the main board, the tv powers up n backlight flashes then it goes into dark screen n then the. 5 times error red light. Could the replacement board be faulty?

There is no t-con board that i can see when I open up the back cover of the tv. I wonder if the main board has t-con integrated on same board.

For me, it is better for you to replace the TV with a new TV and you can sell your TV's internal parts for money 😃 and remember, if anything that involves an LCD replacement, it will cost you a lot of money and instead, buy a new TV 😃.

Also, believe me, I am just a normal person that has no degree or master in electronics. So, I am not a qualified person or technician to ask 😅. What I can tell you, is that TVs nowadays, fail after the warranty end 😆. My TV is same like your TV, it fails after 3 years. You can, at least try, change the T-Con board. You can buy it online at AliExpress. Also, it is cheaper to buy there. It does not cost you much. Around U$D20, you can get one 😀. Oh before that, have you try to reset your TV? Press and hold the power button on your remote or at the back of your TV for at least 10 second. Maybe that will fix your TV issue? Good luck! 👍🏻
