Thanks so much, Sorin. After many months charging my phone at snail speed, I can do that like a bloody Ferrari. I had to change both the charging brick and cable. All good now 👏😉

Hello, it is completely not clear HOW to taste cables? :))) What is the voltage generator? Why voltage is constant? What equipment was used in video???

He’s using a standard 5V charger. Ohms law is P=VI, so he’s not wrong in just focusing on the amps (the I in the equation). The current draw will directly affect the speed a device charges. However as cables degrade over time this type of test should be performed every 6 months or so. People can do what they want - personally I would not keep any cables that perform less than 1.4 amp. Next, I’ve seen cheap eBay cables not deliver the entire 5V to the end. That is quite dangerous for the device being charged as the device requires a certain amount of power to charge if the volts sags - it will make up with amps which if too terrible can cause equipment damage.

Wanting to test my cable, and I get it that amperage is the important thing to test. Have a multi-meter but WHERE would I get hold of the USB meter you have onscreen so I can do what you're doing?? Thanks

My iPad Air 2 doesn't seem to charge, it doesn't show the green light. But when I charge my phone with the same cable it changes fine. How I can I fix this?

you can charge the phone with little like 500 mA, but for ipad you need 2 Amps, so you can have a faulty cable who works on iphone but not on ipad.
