This is the most informative thinning video I’ve watched. I have watched a ton. Yours is the first one that shows how to thin a bang. That’s what I’ve been looking for. Another thing is you show how to use the shears. Meaning which side goes up. Thank you so much.

I'm a male who cuts my own unit, and I've never seen the "twisting hair" technique! But it makes soooo much sense! Thank you for sharing that! Also, I like the way you were very descriptive about protecting the base of the unit, and making sure they used the blank/dull side of the sheers, and then bending it over. Very nice! The explanation of "why" you don't cut the very top part of the hair was also well explained... Overall, I agree with a lot of comments here! this is probably the BEST informative video on how best to use thinning sheers! Thank you for sharing!

This video shows the best method to thin a wig. Thank you! I was using the thinning scissors the wrong way and it wasn't looking right. I am so grateful I stopped cutting and did more research, there's a lot of bad info/videos out there on this.

My hairdresser thinned my wig some, but not nearly enough (she thought it looked fine, I felt it was unnaturally thick- especially since my natural hair, because of PCO is embarrassingly thin....I don't want to go from, barely there to this super thick head of hair, even people who don't see me often would notice! I've got my scissors and I'm ready to give it a go! Very informative, thank you again!!

You are so clever. Best wig-thinning vid ever. Thank you! I bought a new lace front, lace cap, heat resistant synth wig today. Love the rich chestnut color and the shag style but it has WAY too much hair and, on me, has what I think is a sort of wiggish-football-helmet look. Thinning it down to work with my short neck and round face will fix this and now, thanks to your totally brilliant demo, I know how to do it. New sub.

I had a $300 wig, a Jon Renu 'Alia' that is parted in the middle which doesn't look good on me anymore, it's been in its box for the two years that I've had it and your fine instructions, after watching several times, gave me the confidence to do it. Done and it came out perfectly!!! It has a mono top and a lace front, after the cut, the bangs fell nicely into place. Wish I could post a picture. Of course I'm very happy with the results! Can't thank you enough!

Thanks so much for taking the time to educate us wig wearers on how to tweek our wigs for more personalized fit and style. I have a small head and face so most units are way too big and thick on me. I'm usually disappointed when I receive a unit and either give it away or its stored away. 😁 Now I can get them out and fix with these techniques.!💚

I don't have a wig person since I moved to Colorado. The lady in MD was fantastic and would thin wigs out for me. Since watching this tutorial, I honestly think I can do it myself now and take some of the bulkiness out of my wigs.

Great video! Gives me hope for the bulky poofy wig I bought! Thanks for the video! Does this thinning technique help with the poofy look that perma teased hair gives or will the remaining hair still be poofy? I'm wondering if I will still have to work with a warm hair dryer and a spray bottle of water to tame the perma-teased hair after I thin it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Dottie, it sounds like you have a full on poofy wig, and just like a wig that's too thick(not ours) it doesn't matter how much you thin, it will still look like a thick wig. I would chock this wig up to the learning curve and use it as a tester for future things you want to try on a wig. Dear Cloud, excellent question! Beginners would do better thinning less at a time - this means smaller teeth and spacing in between. Safer to take 1 cut at time and then another if necessary instead of 1 big cut. Rochelle

Hi Linda, Sorry, we do not have a specific video showing how to trim a side bang. Keep in mind that you can keep the bangs longer which will allow you to push the bangs to the side. We suggest having your wig trimmed by a hair dresser if you are looking for a very specific look. :)

This is so fantastic..I purchased the Harmony," wig several months ago..and just didn't look right..to wiggy...Tried today with thinning sheers after watching this video several times..It came out perfect!! Loving my "Harmony" now it fits my face much better..Thank you so much first this great video..💕💕
