Greeting cards are very thoughtful but even better is a home made Thread Painted Card. Make a matching book and box, and you have a beautiful gift that will never be forgotten. Follow along and in no time you too will have a beautiful gift to give.

This is so cool. I just joined an art association in my city and unlike everyone else in the club, I'm not a painter by any stretch of anyone's imagination. I've been trying to figure out what my superpower is as it relates to this club. With this idea, I think I could actually "qualify" as a "painter" and contribute to our monthly show and tell segments! Thanks, Laura! I'll give it a try some time and see how things go!

very nice...If you where given a gift like that could you than go and put it in a quilt?

If the thread painting was "not done" on cards stock it would be fine....card stock well you would have a washing machine full of cardboard, the card stock helps hold the fabric tight so that it is easier to thread paint. If you want to try this with out the card stock put the fabric in a tight hoop. thanks for watching

How do you drop the feed dogs?

My brother machine has a horizontal bar on the back, near the bottom. It is just down from the stitching area. Pressing it from one side to the other raises or lowers the feed dogs. I hope this helps.

each machine is different, it could be a button on the side of the machine, or in the front. Please check with your manual
