Good video, some great advice there. I think one thing to add on there is the final hand position when you've completed your throw and even the non throwing hand can have a part to play on consistency as well. Keep up the good work 👍🏼🎯

Good points. For me I draw my arm back to throw, which creates opportunities for errors, like you say. I've tried just having the arm back but it just feels off...static. You probably could have also included grip because I find sometimes I'm always holding it a little different. Maybe stumbling during the dart transition from left hand to right. I'm scoring higher lately by working on my consistency and throwing harder but finding their is always one dart that is one number off the mark. Just have to keep practicing...oh and stop buying and playing with new darts and just stick with one set.

I have always had problems with both drawing back too far and not following through properly. I've been working on it the last few weeks and threw a 72 and 76 against DC this week after throwing in the 50s the last year. I still have to get a lot more reps in to make it stick, but this was definitely what i needed to do to get back on track. I have always thrown quickly, which turned into reaching for my next dart before my first dart even hit the board, which REALLY cut down on my follow through. Now I exaggerate the follow through on every dart to make sure I don't revert back to my horrible muscle memory which had me lunging and overcompensating with my shoulder. It's really important to keep in mind players really need to be patient. Anything you change, you need to acclimate to it. I still feel really awkward reducing my drawback, but the more i do it, the better it feels. SLOW DOWN and BE PATIENT.

Patience is key! That’s why I also say don’t aim when working on mechanics, can be discouraging, master the mechanics then the darts will start hitting. Glad to hear your games getting better man! Excited to see how much better you get, see you next week!

Yeah buddy, very well explained and too the point. But it’s just that when u focus on full follow through the darts tend to miss the target. And my condition is same as Jonny’s wd no follow through but when I do that my darts go very smoothly in the target. So I go wd no follow through and just trying to perfect in the same style cause my average doesn’t drop.(current avg 79-85)

Yep everyone’s got their own way! But that’s also why I recommend not aiming/don’t care about what you hit when practicing mechanics at first, but just practice the mechanics, then feel good with them, hen try aiming. But gotta do what’s comfy for you! Keep it up!

Not really lol sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn’t. I try to not have too much movement but can’t help what feels natural

Hi Bullshot darts. Great video. I practice by holding the palm of my left hand against my chest /right pectoral while I throw (I am a right hand thrower) opposite for a lefty. This stops me throwing my shoulder and isolates my throwing arm.. This also stops me immediately reaching to the left for the next dart. Please give it a try. Let me know if you think its a viable technique. Someone may benefit from it. Regards John
