Love this!! He makes it look easy!! Think I'll look into a set of strainers. Sure looks like it beats the bar!! And that knot sure looks like it beats those... clips!! Really enjoyed it!!

Yeah I don't know why you'd use a figure 8 under tension. I use a figure 8 to join a fence otherwise use a speed knot under strain and break off excess without pliers. But I guess the title says what it says, so you cant argue with that. Good job bro!

the reason for the video is for the knot the rest of it is not relevant
@johnmacrae92087 жыл бұрын
or should I say it's not knot relevant. but I agree snapped of is better

I would love to have one of those chain tensioners. What is that called? I have one of those bar things and it doesn't work worth a crap for high tensile fence.
@sn-v33787 жыл бұрын
sreihart it's called a wire strainer. hayz or strainrite fencing websites shall lead your way

Hi S reihear, they are called Spring Grip WIre Strainer and we would love to show you how it works. We think this is the best way to tie a knot with high tension. Give us a call and we can show you how it works!

Are you in North America? I did some time on Canadian farms and they used those bars with the 2 big "hooks" on each end and a short handle. They called them "wire stretchers". The big difference on high tensile wire, is the bar-stretchers have straight jaws, which are ok for twisted barb wire, but suck on smooth wire. The Hayz or Strainrite wire strainers have curved jaws which can give a huge amount of tension without slipping.

Ruined it at the end with the cutting off of the excess with pliers, breaking off is so much cleaner & nicer looking & more importantly animals & humans won't get snagged on it. Good job otherwise men. Keep up the good work & fencing standards high.
@nicktorea40173 жыл бұрын
@Tstan 28 it's where you keep your wraps tight and with the excess wire you finish with have it pointing straight up & make a crank handle out of it by bending a hand width of the excess down at 90 degrees & pointing away from the main wire. Using the hand width crank handle to push forward parallel & close to the tight wraps previously made until the crank "breaks off" clean nice & tidy with no snags flush with the tight wraps.

Great workmanship.. but why would you do a figger 8 in that tie off situation ?? Just use the usual usual wire strainer not brother. I don't see why ?
