Hey Billy I am braND NEW to this hobby for my retirement. I have to say I didn't understand much at all in this video. What is a pulley rig? Why use it? Why so long? How does it cast? And tbh tying all th e components lost me. Stephen

Okay buddy. This is not a good place to start, these rigs are not for absolute beginners. Search on KZfaq. Pulley rig, slapper rig, running ledger, up and over rig. Learn these, and you'll be off to a good start. Thanks Brother 😁👌

Thanks Billy, I use something similar to the "P" but with a breakaway clip on the sinker, and it works great. I'd love to see something similar for very picky/sensitive fish like bream and whiting (in Australia).
@Billyfishing_watch
@Billyfishing_watch 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jon , I know the bream, whiting you are talking about, and the water you fish is so clear. So the rig should fish well if you go lighter on the hook line , maybe 25lb fluoro and 50lb rig body ,clear beeds .I think it will hook you up, tight lines 😁👍👍

I was messing around with rigs today and made something new to me but maybe already a thing. Basically the same pulley at the top and longer fixed or running at the bottom but I made a double clip that runs freely on the trace body and just drops down on release. The bottom snood goes up and over the bottom half of it and the top pulley on the top half tensions it. Snoods can be any length within reason as long as the top pulley can take up the slack. It looks kind of like this... (__o__) but the eye on opposite side to clips ant twisted 90° to run freely up and down the rig body. (I know it looks like an arse but best I could do to describe). 🤣👍

Hey Billy, greetings from Greece! I find pulley X quite interesting for our usually calm waters and clean ground. Also pulley P for the same purpose. Can pulley B be used on rough ground except for surf?

Not sure you have your swivels sizes right? Size 6 would be around 30/40lb strain
@Billyfishing_watch
@Billyfishing_watch 2 жыл бұрын
If it is the top swivel, then it's a power swivel. They are rated to 100lb or more. Is this your concern. Thanks brother 👍
@TheGameCamer360

@@Billyfishing_watch just confusing because in the uk the top swivel would be size 1 or 1/0
@Billyfishing_watch
@Billyfishing_watch 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, had a look at the vid, I use power swivels, but I did say 5 or 6 for the top stood, it's still safe to cast. I have been fishing these rigs for over 10 years now, I have never had one part on me yet, and I pendulum cast all day with them. And the power swivel is a new component. But If you feel like the swivel is to small just use a bigger one Brother. Fish on 👍😁👌

@@TheGameCamer360 the swivels are not that important, apart from the safety aspect, and what you are targeting. When I fish the rig for cod, I will up the size to a 1or 2. Thanks Aaron hope you hook up 👍
