Hi everyone. In this video I show you How to Tie Dye the Diamond Pattern on a Mini Tapestry. I go over the process step by step, so that you can follow along at home and create your very own diamond pattern tapestry. For my tapestry I chose yellow, green, blue, and black, but you can use whichever colors you prefer for yours. I hope you enjoy and thank you for watching.

That’s so awesome and I’m super excited for you! To be honest I’m unfamiliar with hemp cord being used for Tie dye so that will take some research. I’ve never actually heard of anyone using it before with I find very interesting and definitely something worth looking into. I’ll let you know what I find out😊💜

Thank you! I try to be. I’m having trouble finding anything on Tie Dyeing with hemp cord. All I can find are things that I’m familiar with which is rubber bands, kite string, and sinew. Not to say you can’t do it... just seems like there’s no information on it anywhere unfortunately. Sorry😕

Hi and thank you for your question. Yes the shirt was soaked in soda ash and water for 20 minutes and then spun out in the washer so the material is damp but not sopping wet 😊💜

Very well explained, the folding. I use hot dyes, is it ok if I dip the entire tapestry, in color after forming the folds. It will ofcourse hv only two colors???👍

Thank you! So it will dye but you won’t get the precise color placement if you just dip it. It will have both of the colors you use throughout the entire material. It will probably look really cool!😊💚🖤

These were tulip colors yellow, green, turquoise, and black. Just make sure whatever kind of dye you use, you follow the directions on how to mix. Thanks for your question and I hope this helps 😊

What is soda ash and how much quantity needs to be used? Tell us about the colors u used, are they fabric colors and have u diluted them bcoz they seem runny

You want to use 1 cup of soda ash per gallon of water. Soak for at least 20 minutes. This video was done when I was using tulip dyes so you mix with water. Now I use Dharma Trading Company dye…which you can still mix with water if you’d like.

Do you mean soaked in the soda ash water? If so I spin in out in the washer so it’s damp but not wet.

The dyes I use in this video are tulip pouches but now I use fiber reactive dyes from Dharma Trading Company ☺️

Absolutely! After you fold the T-shirt in half and then in half again you will draw a line from the corner with the color to the kitty corner corner of that makes sense and pleat fold along the marker line and so on ☺️❤️

You can use hot or cold water it just depends on what you are trying to do…Hot Water Irrigation is where you put the powder dye on the shirt and spray hot water over the top and ice dye you do the same but instead of hot water you put ice on it 😊
