I self taught for 2 years before joining a class and my teacher said that my technique looked mostly great (my pirouettes are a bit bad but I knew that) and I had very strong feet. In my old city there was just one point class (in the only ballet school) and the teacher wouldn't allow men, so it was either learn at home or not at all. So I am happy that I did that. I was really careful about it, doing a few months of only bar, stopping when I had an injury (that was from walking down the stairs, I never injured myself while dancing), and always looking at technique. Still needed this video because I just never tucked, because I didn't really have a reason to.

Even if you are really careful, you should learn from a proper teacher to avoid breaking your ankle or even your spine if you happen to fall. It is good that you had strong feet. I watched this video because during class I usually just carelessly tucked my ribbons underneath and they often fell out (although my teachers didn't really care much about that as long as we were dancing properly), and since my exam is really soon I need to make sure my ribbons are tucked properly. And just wondering, how on earth did you even manage to get pointe shoes without a teacher giving consent?

Whenever I tie my ribbons they're fine in demi pointe but when I go up into full pointe they're way to tight, and when I stand flat they're way too loose -_- I needs help please

If the foot is fully flexed when you are tying, it should be correct. I'm wondering if a stretch ribbon might work for you better. Then you would have some give to the ribbon on demi pointe.

I’m 11 and I’ve had pointe shoes since I was little.. I just walk around my room in them. I start pre-pointe at my dance school when you are in level 4a and when your 12. So I may start next year.

Your supposed to tie the ribbon on the box of your shoe where you go all the way up on in pointe by doing that the ribbon stays in place instead of it being loose when you get up from tying it flat on the floor

You know what's weird? The Chinese stores like AliExpress all show the ribbons tied at the back. Like where a back seamed tight would hit the back of your leg. It's so weird but worth knowing if you see cheap pointe shoes online. They are horrible shoes and the shanks seem to made of concrete!! They also sell pointe shoes in lots of different colors and those are also probably a bad idea. So if you're thinking about it? Don't do it!! There are companies with cheaper shoes like Sansha and buying on eBay as less expensive options. So watch out for those shoes, they also come with the ribbons already sewn in which also makes no sense. So please avoid those brands!!
