Sometimes when you hit the brakes with ape hangers they start to move on ya. So sometimes you need to tighten up the riser clamp bolts. Here’s how to tear down a Roadking to get to the riser clamp so you can tighten them up.

I use a small strip of duct tape to hold the washer and nut in alignment. It’s a tight space for big hands. Once the bolt gets well threaded, just pull away the tape. Good video. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for posting. I had did a bar swap a year or so ago and had to refresh my memory on the best and easiest way to just adjust the bars as they slipped down a bit and was bolt was a bit loose. Probably a good idea to tighten these every so often.

Thank you for watching. I know I have to tighten mine up sometimes so I just do it Once a year now. If you pull the quick cap off and loosen the two back clamp bolts the two in the front get loose also and then you fight it until you take the whole thing apart anyways lol

@@StevyFaux Yep, I thought about the quick way and the 2 lower bolts and I was actually searching for that way when I stumbled across your video. lol Really only took a few extra minutes and it was done correctly and tightening all boats.

Stevy, do you remember the size of the torque screw head to tighten the handlebars? Plus, can’t you remove the road king plate and tighten the handle bars without removing the housing or will this not allow you to get to all 4 bolts?
@StevyFaux2 жыл бұрын
I want to say it was quarter inch but I’m not positive. Yes you can remove the plate but it only gives access to two bolts. Which is fine sometimes but every now and then you have to tighten all 4

If I wanted to just adjust my handlebars up a bit, couldn't you just pop off the road king emblem to reveal two rear screws. Would loosening just those two be enough to allow me to adjust the bars and re tighten?

If u leave the nut a lil loose underneath and leave top screw out, u can take off that cover without having to take headlight out. The 2 allen heads holds it in just fine.

Came apart nice….got it all back together. EXCEPT the dam light bezel…. It will NOT clamp back on that light bracket…. I have the same one you do. I put on the (inner/OEM) then slide the French cover over and it’s got a gap at the top and won’t snap around the top. I’m gonna bash it with a hammer and drive it with out a bezel. Gettin ready to duct tape the dam thing on.

I had to leave the original ring a little loose then put the French cover on then tighten up the ring a little bit but not all the way.

Ever use a clamp with a Set Screw? Was thinking on ordering 14" Wild Ones, but they also have a Sure Grip clamp with a set screw. Wondering, if that would make it more set it and forget it, or do you think they still end up moving? Think they would have had a better design to get to tightening those...do love the look though! Thanks for the video!
