BRILLIANT! Just used this for my Bosch 1200 Exxpress - large pink paper clip stuck at the back of the socket. Pulled that out and it seems to be working fine, a LOT quieter too, due to it not jumping around all over the utility room. I should also say, that my heart sunk when I was told "it's easy - just try it", but it was a doddle. just get the towels out too :0) Wunderbar!

Got E:18 error. Emptied the machine for water, but when I tried to open the filter, the cap was jammed. Fixed it by removing the front cover, detaching the water hose using a plumber plier, and then clean out the mess (hair-pins, coins etc.) Got lots of credit for great handy-man work. Only tools needed was a torx screwdriver and a plumber piler.

Great video and comments. My screw cap was so jammed solid that I broke the blue bit off! So then I had to put washing machine on its back (resting on a couple of pieces of wood so I would not damage the pipes, etc.) then remove base/kicker panel, removing the one screw on the right first. Disconnected the two pipes and electric cable and removed pump and trap completely. Took off the motor (being careful to take a photograph so I knew how it went back). Then I soaked the trap in strong descaling solution to remove all the limescale that had jammed the cap on! After a couple of hours soaking the cap came free. Cleaned everything, silicone greased seal and, reassembled and it all worked and no leaks! I have ordered a replacement cap though. However, after doing all this I have realised that I could have just put strong descaling solution into the trap through the drain tube (using a syringe or gravity feed with another tube and funnel), without taking anything apart! It might have taken a bit longer and needed draining and refilling a few times, but it would have achieved the same effect!. .

In my lint filter (the filter located on the bottom right of the washing machine, which is shown by the blue cap in this video) there was a whole sock stuck, which prevented me from opening the filter! No wonder I couldn't do my laundry. For the people with the same problem, I did the following: 1. Tip washing machine onto it's side and put it on top of some crates. 2. Unscrew the bottom plate by removing the 8 screws. 3. Remove the motor from the lint filter by removing 1 screw (at least that's how it was attached with my filter) 4. Remove the dirt/sock/coins! Good luck!

Your tutorial was spot on for me. Thank you, my Bosch Classixx is now draining water again. Some interesting finds that were blocking the water from draining. I had trouble removing the cap, I used some pliers to give me some force and they worked a treat, just be sure not to give it too much force and you break the cap. Cheers! Joseph.

Like many others I could not get the drain filter to come out of its slot no matter how much pulling and prodding and even tipping the machine on its side. After removing the back of the machine I was able to remove the entire drain pump with the filter still inside. Through the side hole where the hose attaches I began scraping out gunk. I had no socks, thongs, coins, or nails, etc. It was full of a deposit that looked a lot like cement! I'm sure it was a build up of old detergent, rinse agent, and minerals from my water supply. I dug in there with a screwdriver and scraped out as much of the residue as I could. There was a lot of deposit. Enough that it narrowed the inlet tube by at least half. I never could get the filter removed from the casing, but put the pump back in place. This entailed my removing the top of the machine and the front panel as well. I just couldn't reach the clip to put the side hose back on without dismanteling nearly the whole machine! Well, finally I got it all back together again and have run two loads through so far. My clean out job worked and it drains very well and spins beautifully again. Seems almost new! But it makes me aware of the need to occasionally run a "vinegar" load from time to time. Hopefully that will prevent future buildup.

Mine was really stuck. After watching this I saw you keep unscrewing the cover left to remove it completely, like it has a thread. Yes, it was full of collar stays, gunk and coins. The manual is not clear but persevere (gently) or the plastic will snap off.

I've been trying unscrew the damn filter until my fingers went numb. After a week of trying i've finally managed to get it open. Found out it was a coin that was blocking it and left a clear rust mark where it's been stuck. These filters are designed in such a way that anything solid enough can prevent it from opening. This washing machine has been nothing but trouble ever since i bought it.

I got distracted by the spreading pool of water and a desire to mop it up.

My Washer is different.. I don't have the small side hose thing. I had to clean the fluff filter when my machine stopped draining properly. I couldn't try the thingo (blue dial in this clip) so as to release the water and 'rubbish'. We tipped the machine almost onto it's back and removed the one end of black rubber pipe that attached to one end of the filter. From there we were able to pull out several hair clips, a coin, wet fluff, and a usb. after that the dial loosened and we were finally to clean it out properly. The machine is working properly now. :) Don't forget to disconnect the power :)

i used 20ml of liquid detergent for front load for regular load in whirlpool front load.after wash is finished when i open pump cover i see some white soapy water.is it normal to see some white detergent remaining

My Bosch serie 4, does the full cycle but when it comes to spin, puts the two much bubbles sign so won't spin, but if I put it onto the spin only cycle it spins, any idea what the problem is, thanks in advance

We are so disspaointed with this machine and we have had nothing but E18 probelem every single wash since we bought the damn thing, still waiting for Bosch to get back to us. When we get the E18 error every single time we clear the filter, the IMpeller rotates okay.

My wife's Bosch Varioperfect is similar to the one in this video, but with a slightly better door/tray design so water can be drained out more controllably. Seeing how many people report that debris jams the coin catcher so it can't be opened, she's extra careful to check trouser pockets. Today, the machine wouldn't drain at all. It turned out that a small piece of dishcloth had jammed in the vanes of the pump, stopping it turning. The cloth must have passed through the coin trap to get there. Another time, a wire came out of a bra and cracked the door window. Not covered under warranty, but I was able to get a secondhand door, luckily.

Same problem - except the cover will not turn more that 1/4 turn anti clockwise, so that’s why men shouldn’t use washing machines cause they put shit in their pocket and never empty when loading the washer.
