The Bid is what the buyer is willing to pay or their bid to buy. The Ask is how much the seller is asking for. But buyers don't buy from other buyers and sellers don't sell to other sellers. Both buyers and sellers must cross the spread to enter a trade. When a buyer enters a long position, they buy at the Asking price of the seller. When a buyer exits (sell to close) It is at the Bid price. When a seller enters a short position, they sell at the Bid price of the buyer. When a seller exits (buy to close) It is at the Ask price. Buying transactions are always paired with Ask prices. Selling transactions are always paired with Bid prices.

@@chinedumobianuju6941 it all depends on who the quoates are for...if YOU are buyuin...YOU are quoated at the ASK price (which wil be the selling price for d broker) n if YOU are seling YOU wil be sellin at the BID quoated price (which is d price d broker wil be buyin at)...so u see it all depends on what side u lookin at it from...the trader side..or d broker side...
