HTTYD has a very special place in my heart. I just finished rewatching the trilogy and am overwhelmed by so much feels... John Powell has created a masterpiece, and I can't stop getting super emotional whenever I hear the soundtrack. This is a REMASTER of my old arrangement. I've improved everything a lot and added more themes! Did you grow up watching HTTYD like I did?!?!

“This is Berk! It's twelve days north of Hopeless and a few degrees south of Freezing to Death. It's located solidly on the Meridian of Misery. My village. In a word? Sturdy. And it's been here for seven generations, but every single building is new. We have fishing, hunting, and a charming view of the sunsets. The only problems are the pests. You see, most places have mice or mosquitoes…. We have…. dragons!”

Most people would leave, not us. We’re Vikings. We have…stubbornness issues. “What is he doing out again- what’s are you doing out? Get inside!” That’s…Stoick the Vast. Chief of the tribe. They say when he was a baby he popped a dragons head clean off its shoulders. Do I believe it? Yes I do. “What have we got?” “Gronkles, Nadders. Zipplebacks, oh and Bork saw a Monstrous Nightmare.” “Any Night Furies?” “None so far.” “Good.”

I was three years old, going on four in may, when the first movie came out, I was 8 when the second one came out, and 12 when the third one came out, I’ve seen every single one more than three times, the first one the most of all of them, and I love every single one, I cried at the third one when Toothless had to leave Hiccup, and how to train your dragon was one of the first movies I remember watching, along with Jurassic Park, which is also one of my favorite movies, and this theme made me feel all of the emotions that the movies made me feel, congratulations dude, you perfectly recreated what John Powell made 12 years ago, man It doesn’t feel like it’s been that long, but it has, time flies

Why thou? The ending was basically them giving up everything they had worked for, for so many years. Not to mention that it doesnt make any sense anyways, it was rushed as hell and the movie basically made us want to cheer when the dragons needed to be sealed away from the world, kept in a shitty, unrealistic underground cave, instead of freely soaring the skies up ahead. Should I be clapping for that shit?

@@anfani6839 I don't feel it was them giving up, but them evolving. I felt the whole trilogy to be about emancipation, because everything they did together brang to that end ; both of them developed a family, the recognition from their peers and they helped their own people to better understand themselves and others. I don't really understand why you're saying they should be flying in the sky instead of living safe in their homeland. We saw two stages of them flying : the first one at the beggining of the movie were they attack to feed their leader, and the second one with HTTYD 2 and 3 with them being hunted. The first villain wants to dominate dragons, the second one wants to kill them ; how do we know there is not another one ? As Valka said to Hiccup about Stoick : it is sometimes impossible to make people change (not word for word, I don't remember the exact line). So I think it's obvious that dragons must be safe and hidden to anyone who didn't learned to appreciate and respect them. And yes, it also was a trilogy about the acceptance of yourself and of the others, so you're gooing to tell me "why they don't live together like they were used to ?" In my opinion, it's because it was the point only of the first movie. At the beginning, they're afraid of each other ; at the end, there is no greater love than the love between a dragon and "his" human, and between a human and "his" dragon. That's why I think the global theme of the trilogy is growth and emancipation : even the point evolves between the movies. I hope it's developped enough, I may had forgotten some stuff. And I'm sorry about the very probably bad grammar ; I tried my best :)

@@raphaelborg8565 Thou the movie in itself has already proven to be incorrect in the safety aspect - the Lightfury was already captured prior to the movie, despite her living in the Hidden World - And Toothless and family were outside of the HW at the end scene, basically implying that dragons need to resurface once in a while - which only makes sense, given the fact that resources are probably very tight in the Hidden World. And what about dragons that cant fly or do need specific food or climate to survive? And how should all the dragons have vanished forever, if the dragons were even around where Drago came from (which is miles and miles away from Berk). And imo dragons and humans were only able to defeat all the villains when they united. Remember the red death in the first movie? if it wasnt for the unity, the dragons would have kept invading Berk for the prey until maybe one day, the queen dies. And they were only able to fend off the Bewilderbeast because they wanted to protect their home and their humans. If anything honestly, Berk is now even more a target, since probably a lot of Grimmels armada survived in the end and retreated - word will go around other trappers and they could eventually come and torture the villagers for the location of the HW. But even IF the separation at the end somehow made sense thematically - it was still executed horribly. Hiccup decided 30 seconds before it happened, that it needs to happen, without ever having talked about it with anyone and single handedly make this decision over the heads of everyone. And not even a single viking or dragon complaining makes no sense at all - it should have been properly set up to be justified

Hiccup, the awkward fifteen-year-old son of the village chieftain, Stoick the Vast, is deemed too scrawny and weak to fight the dragons. Instead, he creates mechanical devices under his apprenticeship with Gobber, the village blacksmith, though Hiccup's inventions often backfire. During one attack, Hiccup uses a bolas launcher to shoot down a Night Fury, a dangerous and rare dragon of which little is known. No one believes him, so he searches for the fallen dragon on his own. He finds the dragon in the forest, tangled in his net, but cannot bring himself to kill him, and instead sets him free. Stoick assembles a fleet to find the dragons' nest to put an end to them once and for all. Before he leaves, he enters Hiccup in a dragon-fighting class taught by Gobber with the other teenagers, Fishlegs, Snotlout, twins Ruffnut and Tuffnut, and Astrid, a tough Viking girl on whom Hiccup has a crush. After failing in training, Hiccup returns to the forest and finds the Night Fury still there, trapped in a cove and unable to fly because Hiccup's bolas accidentally tore off half of his tail fin. Hiccup offers fish to the dragon and slowly befriends him, giving him the name 'Toothless,' after his retractable teeth. Feeling guilty for crippling Toothless, Hiccup designs a harness rig and a prosthetic fin that allows the dragon to fly, but only with Hiccup riding, controlling the prosthetic. Hiccup learns about dragon behavior as he works with Toothless, and is able to subtly and nonviolently subdue the captive dragons during training, earning him the admiration of his peers but causing Astrid to become increasingly jealous and suspicious. Meanwhile, Stoick's fleet arrives home unsuccessful, though Stoick is gladdened by Hiccup's unexpected success in dragon training. Hiccup is judged the winner of his training class, and must kill a dragon for his final exam. He tries to run away with Toothless, but Astrid ambushes him in the forest and discovers the dragon. Hiccup takes Astrid for a sunset flight to demonstrate that Toothless is friendly. Toothless unexpectedly takes the pair to the dragons' nest, where they discover a gargantuan dragon named the Red Death. The smaller dragons continuously feed it live food to avoid being eaten themselves; the two realize that the dragons have been forced to attack Berk to survive. Astrid wishes to tell the village about their discovery, but Hiccup advises against it to protect Toothless. Back at the village the next day, Hiccup faces a captive Monstrous Nightmare dragon in his final exam. Instead of killing him, however, he tries to subdue him in an attempt to prove that dragons can be peaceful. When Stoick inadvertently angers the dragon into attacking, Toothless escapes the cove to protect Hiccup, but is captured by the Vikings in the process. Hiccup accidentally reveals to Stoick that Toothless knows the location of the dragons' nest. Despite Hiccup warning his father that facing the Red Death will get him killed, Stoick disowns his son, and sets off for the nest with Toothless chained to the lead ship as a guide. After the Vikings have left, Hiccup is devastated, but Astrid prompts him to come to the realization that he spared Toothless out of compassion and empathy, not weakness. Hiccup then regains his confidence to go after Toothless. He shows Astrid and the other teens how to befriend the training dragons. The Viking attackers locate and break open the dragon's nest, awakening the Red Death, which soon overwhelms the Vikings. Hiccup, Astrid, and their friends fly in, riding Berk's captive training dragons, providing cover fire, and distracting the Red Death while Hiccup frees Toothless. Hiccup almost drowns while doing so, but Stoick saves them both, reconciling with his son. Toothless and Hiccup destroy the Red Death by puncturing its wing membranes and then tricking the beast into making a plunge from which it cannot pull up. Toothless shields Hiccup from the ensuing explosion, but Hiccup loses his lower left leg. Hiccup awakens back on Berk, finding that Gobber has fashioned him a prosthesis, and he is now admired by his village including Astrid, who kisses him. Berk begins a new era, with humans and dragons living in harmony.

HTTYD will always be my favorite movie/franchise! I remember going to theaters to see the first movie when I was a kid and FALLING IN LOVE! The visuals, the characters, and the music were PERFECTION! I can't stop myself from getting emotional as well whenever I hear the soundtrack! Thank you for this arrangement, the joy and nostalgia I got from this transported me back to 2010 when 10 year old me was determined to go out find the dragons! ❤️

How To Train Your Dragon is one of my favorite trilogies, and they will forever have a place in my heart. 2 is probably my favorite of the three. Plus David Tennant plays Spikelout (Snotlout’s father) in the series, so thats bonus points.

DreamWorks is superior to Disney in a bunch of different ways and this trilogy is a great example. Not gonna lie, the third movie did go off the deep end a bit, but it was still great. Edit: come to think of it, there probably aren't very many movies I saw as a kid that I'd ever let my kids watch if I had any, but HTTYD is definitely one of them.
@anfani6839
@anfani6839 2 жыл бұрын
The ending of the third movie didnt make any sense to begin with. Why would they just give up after everything they've been through? And why would that be a good thing for everyone? "They are safer there", but point is, the movie has proven in itself that the Hidden World isnt the safest place on earth. Dragons need to resurface once in a while, as seen with the Lightfury and her capture by Grimmel and his troop, or with the final scene where Toothless and family were just chilling on the shores. If any smart trapper appears again, knowing where the Hidden World is located, bye bye Toothless I guess, since Hiccup wont be around anymore to go save him
@Justjustinp
@Justjustinp 2 жыл бұрын
@@anfani6839 it might not make sense logically. But it is brilliant from a thematic standpoint. It perfectly parallels the emotions from childhood friends moving on to their own lives to form their own families.
@anfani6839
@anfani6839 2 жыл бұрын
@@Justjustinp But it was executed horribly - bc not even a single person talks about it and complains about it at the end. And what about Valka and Cloudjumper? Is Cloudjumper now Valkas childhood friend? And they all had families before - in the gift of nightfury, but ultimately they all came back to Berk because they valued their bonds with the vikings so much
@anfani6839
@anfani6839 2 жыл бұрын
@@Justjustinp And besides - the Lightfury was ready to start living with humans after she followed Toothless and revealed herself to them. There was not a single reason for any of the dragons to leave, other than forcing a tearjerking ending with no logical for the sake of it

Man the way that John Powell made this theme, it made it feel like you were there in with them flying with the dragons or wanting to fly with the dragons, and how throughout the trilogy how they made hiccup and Astrid fall in love and get married after she basically hated him is perfect
