Mine worked perfectly thanks to this video. I had to buy a usb-c to micro-usb cable to copy everything from my old Realme C2 Android to my new Motorola G62 Android.

I've done this before, over WiFi and need to do it again tomorrow to a Pixel 6a. It works a treat, except yes, a lot of Apps require a sign in and some data, such as that in my "Notes" App didn't cross over and I had to send a lot of it manually, via email. Also, if memory serves me well, things like Nova Launcher and Swiftkey Keyboard have to be set up from scratch. Even with all this, the setting up of a new phone is a time consuming process! 😉😉

this is the first thing that shows up on every android device so it's not a big deal. BUT...if you skip it how can you reenter the process without factory reset? i think this is the harder question.

(Assuming you are just switching from one phone to another phone, using the same phone number and carrier) You should place the SIM card from your old phone into the new phone's SIM card tray.

@@thecollegepicker uh... yes it is. that is almost certainly why this person asked. I want the stuff off my old cell but forgot the stupid pin number! I can not access the cell and don't want to lose the things like pics I have on there... I cant take the battery out and I can't get past the pin screen and losing my mind! That's why I'm here but guess no help.. I'm usually so good about writing down pin numbers and passwords I change and saving them but NOPE for some STUPID reason I didn't. I can not call phone company as I'm on a "family plan" with Ex and he will NOT HELP.. drama drama drama.. I am so MAD at myself... UGH!!!!!!!! I even tried changing the sim cards out.. no help cause the STUPID cell still wont let me in! I feel like just going outside and throwing it as far as I can off a BRIDGE! yeah would be funny if I wasn't so upset.. at ME. GRRR guess I'm screwed.. I can't understand why I can't get past this because all my google/android stuff is synced but well that is it.

My NEW phone says "choose what to restore" ...... then it gives choices Apps,Contacts etc ........... My question is... is I choose "Restore at the bottom, doesnt restore mean set them all back to default, in other words wipe my apps & contacts out? plz someone tell me because Im sitting here phones side by side unsure what to do.

I am trying to switch from nothing phone to moto Razr 40 ultra from the last two days using the cable but it just gets stuck at "Getting Ready to Copy" I left it overnight but it kept on that screen for several hours and I had to cancel it. Just did the same for several times. Is it important to put the sim in the new phone before initiating this process or am I missing something? Any ideas on that?

I have a few questions. I have to send my old damaged phone back and need to transfer all of my data to my new phone. they are both the same Samsung S20FE devices. my question is would it be easier and quicker to use Samsung Smart Switch instead of using this method? I of course want to everything transfered to my new phone. second question is when you transfer your data via cable does it use the data on your carriers data plan that you have? if it does not, then is the cable version faster that using a wifi? I have a reasonably fast 5g-wifi. last question my new phone came with a sim card. so should I just leave the Sim card that is in my old phone and install the new Sim card that came with my new phone and then do the transfering of all of my data???

If you input the new sim you will have to call your provider and have them update it or you won't get service. If you keep your old sim card then it works immediately!

My new S22+ currently says it will taking 36 hour & 40 minutes to complete the transfer with Samsung Smart Switch. I am transferring data wirelessly from a S10+. I selected "All Data" . Maybe stop it and modify what gets transferred over ? Any help is appreciated. This is happening now as I type this. Thanks, Gerry

Don't transfer your apps with all the rest of the stuff. Wait till all your data, except apps are moved, then go back and move your apps over. The guy at TMobil told me to do it that way and it much quicker both rounds of transfer.

never worked for me.. I have TONS of texts I wanted to save from my old Note 3 (which I LOVED) and stupid Att and other co halted use of them and I NEED the texts. I want to save them .. doing the ss method one at a time or so has been WAY to hard since I have a MILLION of them and NEED to save them for sentimental and other reasons.. soooo.. I just keep my Note 3..waiting to figure it out.. Im stubborn like that and getting too old for this S@#$ lOl
