Ben Eblen is a software developer turned artist. He transitioned from programming as a day job to making a full time living as an artist and art teacher. He spent most of his 20's working in tech doing art on the side and building an instagram following.
Over two years, Ben's following rocketed to 200k+ on instagram using a lot of the same strategies he was learning working in tech to building an audience. Things like using time on post as a marker for the instagram algorithm, and capitalizing on that by making his images of lost of text on them so people stay and read and as a result boosting the "engagement" on the backend of instagram.

How you was able to do your tech job, workout and improve at art at the same time? I have art job, at Japanese company, making tv anime, but I barely have time for anything else. Is it just your efficiency?

The Warhol part of this talk was good, but I was half-expecting you to also point out that the man literally had a factory where other people made his art. Glass-makers do it: check out the Chihuly Garden in Seattle sometime...it's valid art-commerce, but the perfection is not a result of trying new things; it's iterative improvement that brings a thing to market.

I wish i had the ability to be intensely interested in things. It's mostly my low self esteem that stops me from going after things, i eliminate myself from the start cause i believe im not smart enough to make cool stuff :/
