Great video. Thank you Marina! Apparently you can get the bus from Narva bus station directly to St Peterburg! Is that correct?

Yes, you can. I think there is a problem with that bus that it's always getting stuck for hours on the border. It's a good option, because it's not very expensive

Currently it's not allowed for foreigners to travel to russia by trains from belarus. It is due to the fact that there is no border control between Belarus and Russia. So only Russians and Belarussians are by the end of 2023 allowed to travel by train via BY-RUS border. For foreigners (not belarussians nor russians it is currently best to fly via Belgrad, Istanbul, Dubai or just go to belarus and then fly from Minsk to Moscow

Just what I was looking for, awesome! I want to travel to moscow from the UK but was worried there might be too much red tape. The Lithuania option seems best. Do you have advice on how to spend money in Russia, obviously Visa cards are blocked. Can you use cash everywhere?

You can't use any foreign cards in Russia, but cash is very welcome. You can very easily exchange money: euro, dollars and pounds not a problem. There are exchange offices and banks on every corner. If you travel through Belarus, check if you need a visa. You definitely need a visa for Russia.

@shawn9469 Yes, you can travel as any citizen. Russia didn't ban anyone. It's only the other way around. Visa to Russia is quite expensive, and you need to make an appointment in the visa office in London or Manchester. It's a little hustle, but if you are very determined, you can visit Russia in no time. I found that Russia is now back on the travel radar for many foreigners. If you want, you can check this out russia-visacentre.com/en/visa/united-kingdom/russia This is an official website. They are also plenty of travel agents in London, who can do it for you for the extra cost and save yourself a border to travel to the embassy. I did it a few years ago for my husband 😀

Hi, I'm from the UK and would like to visit Moscow sometime this year. I think I would prefer the train through Belarus. Do you need a visa to enter Belarus or don't you need one as you're only passing through?

Please check with the Russian Embassy first. There is no border between Belarus and Russia when you travel by train, and it can be an issue for a UK passport holder. Maybe you can travel to Belarus and fly to Russia from Minsk. Bus from the same bus station going to airport and cost all most nothing. I hope it's helps😁

@user-cn4wf9ud8p Yes, I am. I just came back from the Czech Republic, I took 14 thousand koruna with me which is £500. I'm doing the same method when I go to Russia.

Hi . This is helpful. I am planning on visiting my russian gf in Saint Petersburg feb 2024 for a week. From the uk gatwick. I have dine much research, and i think fly to helsinki then lux express bus. I heard helsinki border little nicer than estonia. Only concern is helsinki border empty od shops or hotels. And estonia bit mroe populated. I am planning how much to spend on visa at the moment. Gf xan supply hotel information for visa but i think its easier if i pay the visa company to cover the living adderess for me under invitation if yoy understand. Thanks. Tryinf my best to plan all.

Ask your friends to book you a hotel with free cancellation and you will have a proof of booking for your visa, you can do it on www.tutu.ru and if I am not mistaken, visa to Russia now is free and you can do it online. Call the embassy to confirm, thereis one in London. I hope it's helps.

I will ring and see. im uk and never been there. all i can find is visa costing 250£ or around that amount. it would be nice if free . haha.@@HolidayAddictvideos

@ONEMANUNITX it was very expensive before, now because of a situation with a travelling, they are doing it for free, tourist visas only. I think it's only started the last few months. But check it with them, everything changes every day🤦‍♀️

How do you pay for bus journeys?

Depend on the bus route. From Lithuania or Tallin to Belarus, you can book on www.europebus.co.uk and pay with your card. If you use a Russian website, you do need a Russian credit card. If you need anything else, just ask😄

How do you buy stuff there and reserve hotels

You can take with you euros, dollars, or british pounds and change them to rubbles. Most of the banks have a currency exchange office. You can check www.tutu.ru for hotels. If you don't have a Russian bank account, you can book and pay on arrival. Not all hotels do that, so it will take time to find a hotel. If you have friends or family there, they can do it for you. Yes, but you need to get a visa first. As I am aware, you can get it online now, but the best thing is to contact the Russian embassy. They have on in Dublin. I hope it's helps😀

I’m thinking to visit Russia I am currently in uk I’m worried if this would affect my visa in uk as they aren’t having direct connections with Russia anymore due to the situation, please can you let me know if there is something I should take care of or anything I’m planning on October. @prajwalnaik9433 you can apply for e-visa online at least 14 days before travel, and you don't need to send a passport for that, and you won't have it in it. But, saying that, you will still have a border control stamp of visiting Russia in your passport. So, the question is: do you want to apply for British citizenship? If yes and very soon, then it can affect it. If unser not in the near future, then you will be OK. Still, check before travel. These days, anything could happen.

@@HolidayAddictvideos thank you for your response I don’t have plans to get citizen ship in the next 5 years however I would apply for a sponsored job if given by a company in the coming year or soon, so I believe there are risks. I believe, finally what you would recommend. Thank you for your assistance and help, it’s mainly because my gf lives in Moscow that would be purpose of visiting
