Great information, I have the M2P fly more package, after two years my same three batteries are fine.

I'll fly soon with fly emirates, according to their drone policy they only allow drones as checked in luggage. therefore, I will just put my drone in my check in luggage but the batteries in my carry on luggage I guess

Solid video. One thing you didn't address though that has caught me several times: luggage carry on weight limits on international flights. Every international flight I've been on has had a carry-on weight limit of a combined 15kg. Just my DSLR and a few lenses are enough to be well past that limit. Then you tack on a drone, and maybe even a laptop, and you have utterly blown through the weight limit. I know they don't always check for weight, but I've had them check quite a few times, and it creates horrible difficulty every time. What do you do?

I will be flying with TAP Air Portugal, their website states that drones must be in checked in luggage and I can't take my drone into cabin in a backpack. This is really weird and actually the opposite of most other airlines where they want you to carry your drone in the cabin with you. Have you flown with TAP Air Portugal before? I see a b-roll footage at 7:35 showing a TAP Air Portugal A319 Cabin.

I always drain my batteries completely. I just do it as a just in case option and just charge them back up when I arrive.

In reguards to the maximum watt hours that need approval. My drone has 4, 46 wh batteries. each one is under the limit but collectively over the limt. Would I still need to get approval to bring all 4 batteries?

Thank you so much for this travel info. I am a new Recreational Drone Pilot and I do have some upcoming travel plans. Unfortunately, the countries I am traveling to are not on your list. I will be going to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in August 2022. I sent an email to the Caribbean Civil authority 2 weeks ago and have not heard back. I will also be traveling to French Polynesia in June of 2023. I did learn that Bora Bora has major restrictions and I may even need to take 107 to fly there. (I prrobably will in any case) Again, I emailed their Civil Aviation authority and have not heard back. I know I have time, but just want to plan in advance. One of my biggest concerns is getting my drone confiscated by customs. Any thoughts about that and in general about researching these countries is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
