In this presentation to the Autism Community in Action (TACA), David Velkoff MD, Co-Founder and Medical Director of the Drake Institute of Neurophysical Medicine explains how neurofeedback therapy is used to address underlying brain dysfunction in patients diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Autism is a neurodevelopment disorder that ranges from mild to severe and includes symptoms such as repetitive behaviors, impaired social communication, restricted interests, and can also involve gastrointestinal issues, and/or biomedical abnormalities. In addition to treating the gut and biomedical issues, which is important and can certainly be helpful, the best outcomes can be achieved by also addressing the underlying brain dysregulation that is the source of symptoms.
With the help of qEEG brain mapping and neurofeedback, the Drake Institute’s non-drug Autism treatment program helps patients achieve a reduction of symptoms with a better quality of life.

I am from Indonesia so I need to consult with your team first on whether the accelerated program for us. Thanks.

I’m a 15 year old with autism and ADHD. Just to let you know, the autistic community do not support curing autism as it is not an illness. You are born with it and it says with you your whole life. Curing a child’s autism can cause a lot of trauma.

Your assumption is that autism is the brain not functioning healthily and normally. You're right, autism is a different neurotype. But, autism is the brain functioning fine for that individual.
