Just happened upon this video. Being relatively new to sailing beginning to get the hang of it all, I must say, I never have come across an instructor who so clearly and wonderfully demonstrated these basics in an easy to understand way. I wish I had watched these earlier on. THANKS SO MUCH! ❤

I’m an ex sailmaker and professional yacht racer. This introductory explanation on headsail trim is spot on. Highly recommended watching. Sails can be read like a book once you understand the language. It takes years to understand when and why to do things but these years can be short circuited with quality tuition.

Really well paced and presented. Thanks for sharing. Re the “lift” and tell tails. I have personally found it good to phrase it for myself, as “push” on the windward side and “suck” on the leeward side. Both being crucial to keeping the sail efficient. Thanks again. I learned something watching this which is always great. Edit. KZfaq brought me more material by you. I now understand a little more about why you are so so good at teaching this. You really really know and love your stuff. Thanks again.
