The process worked perfectly on 2014 F250 crewcab work truck. Page 34 and 35 in the manual. It recommends unbuckling 3 times however. Yea..... no more chime! Thanks

Just used your method to turn off the chime in my 2016 F250 XL! It worked the first time and only required 3 seat belt insertion cycles. The seat belt warning icon on the dash stays on if the belt isn't buckled but that's OK. For the Safety Nazis out there, yes, I do normally wear my seat belt.

Can't wait to try this on my 2001 F350 tonight! We camp on the beach all summer, and speed limit is 5 mpg, so no seat belt really needed. However, the dang chime goes off so much, I just put the belt on.

I think you are missing the last step, or so last for my 350 you are. Everything is as you said but at the end when the light comes back on you have to buckle and unbuckle one more time to confirm. That's the only way mine would work

@@onlyoneway3829 really? That sucks It worked on the first try for me. You can also unplug it from under the driver's seat. A friend of mine bought the metal part of a seatbelt from a junkyard & plugged it in his seatbelt That worked.

Slightly different steps on the 2003 F350: Buckle/unbuckle 3 times; Turn the headlight on, then back off; Buckle/unbuckle 3 times again.

I don't know why I watched this because evidently the previous owner did this. The only dinger I have is the headlights on warning when I open my door. If I hear a dinger, it means my headlights are on. lol Anyway, this is a very helpful video for those suffering the dingers ;)

I wonder if this will work for my 2000 Ford the damn chime go off randomly every 30 minutes and it doesn't matter if I have my seatbelt on or not I tracked it down and to try to clip wires nope they put it inside the center of the damn brain box under left driver side. You cannot access it at all.

I understand that we should wear our seatbelts.... it's not about not wearing your seatbelt... sometimes I park the vehicle leave the engine running to listen to the radio or whatever while waiting... and the stupid chime keeps going off! wether it's in park and sitting still or not... very annoying... thanks for the video!!

yes it worked however my truck was slightly different. this applies for 2003 mazda b300/ ford ranger turn truck on just running position, wait a minute or two than the seat belt light will go out than fasten and unfasten the seatbelt tree times than turn lights on and off than fasten and unfasten seatbelt three times wait for seatbeltlight to come on and off than fasten and unfasten seatbelt again and the light will flash 7 times alerting you that ithas been disabled...

I'm going to give this a try on my 01. I always wear my seatbelt when driving, but when I'm in the yard hooking up or backing a trailer, and I don't put a belt on, it's pretty jarring to be concentrating on the task and then the Nuclear Attack Siiren goes off in the cab.

If you have a 2011, you need to put the ebrake on, use a key that is an admin key (non-MY Key) turn it to the on position with out starting the engine. Wait about 1 1/2 minutes till the seat belt light goes off you then have 30 seconds to buckle and unbuckle the seat you wish to disable. Seat belt will come on if done correctly for about 5 seconds then go off. You have 7 seconds to buckle and unbuckle the seat belt once more to disable it. If done correctly the seat belt light will blink rapidly to confirm you disabled it. Live free or Die! No more annoying dinging nose! Enjoy!

i understand the process. But my truck doesnt seem to realize the seat belt IS buckled. I get the chime even though im wearing my seat belt. So im guessing the process want work for me?

boone1975 Unfortunately it sounds like a problem with the sensor that detects whether your belt is buckled. It's worth giving the process a try anyway; and I wonder if you could try with the passenger belt instead? (Probably not, but perhaps your truck manual suggests an alternative procedure.)

I think the process changed for 04-08 Fords. There's a couple videos on KZfaq that show how to do it for 1994-2004 Fords.

+Rob Rupprecht Hmm, sorry to hear that you are having trouble. You might consult your manual and make sure there aren't any slight changes to the procedure for your F350. From the comments on this video, it seems the procedure works on a variety of Ford vehicles, BUT it can be a little tricky to successfully do it. Once it is done, it usually lasts.

Sweet! I’m guilty of not wearing my seatbelt unless I’m in extreme weather etc and I’m 99-100% sure that I’m going to be in a horrific and more than likely unsurvivable accident. I’m numb to the chime and don’t even hear it unless it’s pointed out to me, however everyone that rides with me is annoyed to the point that they may commit suicide at any time should the opportunity present itself. I'm not against wearing my safety belt when I drive. I've had plenty of accidents where seat belts have saved my life. But that reminder that comes on can get annoying as hell. It can be a soft *boing! boing!* or an annoying prolonged loud *Bzzz!* sound. Most people shouldn't need to be reminded to buckle up when they get into the car, they usually do it automatically. I know I do.

Same here! I started to discuss this point in detail in the video, but figured people might not want to hear me talk about it... There are times when the truck engine is running that I need to briefly unbuckle my seatbelt - for example, when but we stop to photograph wildlife, and I need greater mobility. The "Beltminder" can be incredibly annoying.

So in order to fix you need to take not only the belt off but your hands off the wheel too?! Get a fat guy clasp extender.

I read the manual, I watched the videos... None of it worked. My book says only 3 times though...

There may be slight discrepancies in procedure for different years and models. I would give it another shot, adhering closely to the procedure outlined in your manual. Many people here have enjoyed success with this 'hack.' Give it another try! Once you finally get it, the results are worth the hassle.

Why would you drive car without a seatbelt? o_O EDIT: Just saw that the seabelt chime is activated even when you are standing still... lol Ford you failed.... HARD! In every European car the seatbelt chime is activated by driving faster than 10km/h, when you slow down again it will stop.

Personally, I never drive at highway speeds without using a seatbelt. But there are times when we stop the vehicle -- for example, when we see wildlife in a national park -- and I need to remove my seatbelt for greater mobility in taking photographs. In this sort of situation, the seatbelt chime will drive ya nuts.

xXYannuschXx When reversing your car, here, it is legal to unbuckle your belt. Some find this makes it easier to look out the rear window to avoid collisions. In many places, at slower speeds (eg: Below 40 km/h) it's legal to remain unbuckled while making deliveries or other service work (I expect to make it easier to deliver rural mail and pickup garbage). As for safety, one can only hope collisions at those speeds aren't going to cause life threatening injuries. And, of course, with the massive parking lots attached big box stores have, some people drive from store to store. Some don't buckle because of the low speeds and seatbelt laws here don't cover private property.

shepd shepd When you hit a tree at 50km/h your body will weight around 1 ton, enough to splatter your head on the steering wheel.
