I spent two hours trying to unlock my phone. I got the apple iphone 10 manual, googled instructions, watched a series of youtube videos until I found this one. This guy is the ONLY SOURCE that adequately teaches you how to get back into your iphone when it is locked on that annoying voiceover feature. Thank you so much for posting this video. You can also turn it off by hitting the power button 3 times. It’s the same to turn it on. That’s mostly likely how most of you are accidentally activating voice over

A quicker way is to triple-push the lock button, then choose "voice over." It fixes it instantly. I also recommend manually removing the voice over option from this list, so that you don't accidentally turn it on again.

When VoiceOver is enabled, or rather before, there's a little dialogue that asks if you are sure you want to turn this on? Doing so will change the gestures. Apparently most people failed to see this little dialogue. Silly sided people who are actually more blind than blind people in this context.

@@khanhhm5762 I actually saw the diologue and clicked yes because I was thinking "I'm sure it can't do that much harm or change". I was dead wrong it caused my dad to get all pissed off, it caused me to have a mental breakdown because for some reason it just went crazy and lagged the heck out of my phone, all the while mom was struggling how to help us. However I am still wondering why apple would include such an annoying and useless feature on thier phone, it literally has no purpose besides making people think their phone is broken and causing them to panic as you see in the comment section.

But from a blind person's perspective, it has a lot of purpose--it enables the user to navigate the phone and accomplish tasks like a sighted person. VoiceOver is a screen reader; the screen reader reads text to the user via either speech or braille if the user has a braille displayed paired to it. I know this because A: I. Am a blind person who uses VoiceOver--which I am doing now as I write this--and B: I am an Apple Technologies instructor.

Your ability regarding the art of teaching is impressive. In my case I did not know that problem with my iphone was voice over, I thought it was with Siri. It would be nice to highlight at the beginning of any Siri related problem that it might get confused with the concept of voice over. Best
