Do you want to know how to Turn on your TV using your PS5 controller? Using HDMI device link you can Turn on your TV using your dualsense controller, simply press the power button! On the PS5, go to settings, then go to system, HDMI and make sure HDMI device link is enabled. Also, on your TV's system settings that you have HDMI-CEC or Device link enabled. Good, but you've missed an important part. On some TV's you have to enable something called HDMI-CEC. Lots of people probably skipped this because the guy was talking too long.

Thanks for this. Your inputs being labeled as HDMI-CEC gave me the right place to look for my TV settings, as it has a CEC section where I had to switch it from Auto to Enabled. Worked after that to turn the TV on. It's not working to turn the TV off, though; I will have to research that more.

Thanks for the tutorial, I had it on my tv, but you know when somebody else plays your ps5 and they start messing with stuff, that’s what happens.

So funny thing when I turned my ps5 on my Samsung tv would turn on. Now it doesn’t and all the setting are correct. Not sure what to do.

My tv is weird. I tested it with PlayStation and my tv turned on but didn’t switch to correct hdmi source but when turning on my Nintendo switch my tv turned on to the correct source immediately.

Idk if you still having this problem but swap ur hdmi form you switch to ur ps5 (just the one in the dock) and it should work that what I did

mine just stopped a day ago... it used to be my remote would work my sound and i'd see the sound number/volume on tv screen. now i dont. the soundbar still turns up and down. also the tv wont come on. i wonder if it was an update sony did or what i. this has me baffled.

@@retrogamer8085 I found that if everything is plugged into the TV as it should be, just unplug the power cord from the TV and put it back in 20 seconds after,

@@philpots3216 i found out what it was... i bought a new multi hdmi switcher and hooked it to my tv. my last switcher was 5 ports, the new one is 7. the new one has caused the problem. i unhooked it, ps5 turns on with tv now, but my soundbar's popup menu to show volume level when i turn volume up/down doesnt pop up. ah well. at least i know the issue now and fixed it. but i will try what u said as well.

@@philpots3216 ok i unplugged my tv then plugged it back in.. works! i still think that new 7x hdmi port switcher i have did this, though. i may have to go back to my old 5x port switcher.

@@retrogamer8085 it should be ok now you have done the power trick, I think most 📺 now need to restart once you move(swap out) cables around. Once a port memorises something it needs to reformat once something changes.. its an easy fix by unplugging tv power lead,, all I needed to do after was set the picture back up for each port,(dynamic, game, hdr, ect).

It used to work with my PS4 every time I press my PS4 button on the controller it would also turn on my PS4 along with my TV but it doesn’t work with my PS5

My PS5 was working until recently and now it won’t turn on my tv anymore. Haven’t found any solutions to this issue.

Now it’s randomly working again. Hopefully the next series of TVs doesn’t have this issue. Nothings perfect but one does expect some level of consistency for a product costing $1000 or more

Yup, I don't get why they are giving us the comfort not to have to look for the TV remote to turn on the TV, but then have us use it to turn the TV off after the gaming session. 😂

@@fynnh5459 there is no a perfect solution then. When i had an Xbox the tv was turning on and off along with the console, however there were not a switch the audio source from tv to headseat as it is on the ps, when the headset was plugged in the tv was muted. Every console has something that annoys xd. I wonder if it is that hard for them to combine these two things…
