Hi, Thank you for your wonderful videos. I have the 4100Nex and a Clarion CC520. I would like to be able to toggle to the reverse view when not in reverse but still have it work as it should while in reverse. The camera has 3 connections, the RCA plug, a power wire and a ground wire. The RCA plug is no problem but, which respective wires on the HU wiring harness should I tap into so I can use the camera in both regular reverse and while in drive? The Violet/White or the Red? There are no other connections (reverse lights) possible.

Is this the same as holding the maps key in that you did in another video. 2nd. If you do this, will your music cut off in the meantime or will that only happen when the headunit senses the car is backing up?

These guys are great explaining how to install radios I watch them quite a bit. But this video they should have actually hooked up a camera so that you could see that it's coming on.

You also have a blank screen just like all of us here - nuts.

What front/back up camera do you recommend for the 8200nex, the Pioneer BC8, Pac UNO 1 or another similar one? These videos are great, keep up the good work!

I think there are different wiring options. You can wire your camera so that it ONLY works for backup, or so it can be used while driving.

I spent $40 on 2.5mm & 3.5mm wires (spltter, upsize, downsize) to try to allow for the two outputs from one input (camera), but either I have a faulty component, or something else is going on. Yes but is there any ways to get rid of the annoying “Caution video may appear reversed”. It doesn’t let me see the cars coming from far away, and when they are close that I can see them clearly, it might be too late. I wish that message would have been placed at the bottom of the screen instead of the top. Or give you the option of disabling it.

I have a DMH-1500NEX and have a HD eRapta backup camera connected and it does work when I select it through the menus, but it will not pop up when I put it in reverse. It is wired correctly per the camera manual. Hi guys. I have a pioneer AVH-p2300 dvd.. my problem is or maybe it's the function of the headunit already. But the car is installed with a back up camera.. My problem is if I put the car in reverse it's not detecting the revcerse camera after putting it in reverse. What happens is I need to manually press the rear view icon in the head unit which makes your screen appears black with warning information warning image camera might be reversed etc.. but if you put your gear in reverse it show's the image.. then if you put your gear back to D or P or N the head unit stays black all the time. Well if you touch the screen it will show you the head unit display but after a couple of seconds it goes back to the black screen. Question is... would it be possible or is it possible for me to have this re wire so that I don't need to manually press the rear view icon just to have the camera function properly. What I mean is once you open your head unit. you can view your head unit and ocne you go to reverse it should automatically sense the camera. Thanks!

Great videos guys, I have had a pioneer AVH490DAB installed in my 2013 sprinter conversion (installers were useless) I have 2 issues, the install company said my reverse camera didn’t work but through your videos I’ve got it working, BUT the camera only shows up when I manually press camera function (it has to be in reverse also which is expected). A better solution would probably be a toggle switch that gives power to the camera and simulates reverse. Most of these I've seen activate when the camera is powered up and the camera usually gets powered by the reverse light. Connect to the reverse light as usual then also run a second lead to camera power from a toggle switch at dash.

I had not yet tapped the signal wire into the reverse wire, but I have wired up the positive and negative wire to the respective wires on the radio harness. I tried messing with the camera options after watching this video. And now my radio is stuck in camera mode. I tried unplugging the RCA from the camera and disconnecting the power wire but it won't switch back. Any ideas?

I have a pioneer avb-2400bt. I was pulling some devices that were connected to my radio like gps, tv tuner, and Sirius. I had it because before everything went to digital it was working but now it is not. The gps stopped working due to an accident on the snow. It got wet I think. And the last on Sirius never subscribed to it. Though it was free but it was a subscription. So far ther many years, I decided to remove them and I was thinking become more organized with the wired back there. I wanted to add 2 fuses boxes and wire management devices so that it would be easier to expand if needed. So, the problem l, I am facing is that my rear camera is not switching automatically when stick is in reverse. It was doing that before but I am not sure if I pull something on the back. I did notice that when I press the rear camera button on the radio to "on" it does switch automatically but with some delay. The problem is that when I am listening to the radio it will go back to the screen of the rear camera. Before the pull it wouldn't do that.Also, i remember that the rear camera button was always off. That's, I would not turn it on because it would do that (switch screen). But, now I am not sure what I need to look for in the back to ensure the wires are properly connected. At a glance, everything look ok but when I noticed this behavior when going on reverse it didn't do it automatically. Can you provide any help what I can do?

I have Pioneer AVH-2300NEX and an Autovox Cam6 Backup camera.. i tried hooking up all the wires.. now my camera RCA has a small red wire hanging beside it.. and the installer Hooked it up to the Purple and White cable from the head unit... now i hooked up the tail end wirings (Red wire and Black/Red wire) in the end of my car to my Reverse light positive and Ground to my chasis.. when i put my gear on reverse it doesnt automatically switch the display on my screen when backing up... but when i choose the "Rearview" icon in the menu it shows im backing up.. any help?

I installed a autovox cam1 in my 09 Honda civic with a Pioneer 4000nex ran a wire from the purple n white behind the headunit to the reverse light positive and hooked up the positive from the camera wiring to the reverse light positive and grounded the black to the car chassis but my camera works only when I put my car in reverse and won't show any picture when I try to view it while in any other gear. The only thing I get is a black screen that says something like "image may be reverse". What do you think I did wrong if anything? Thanks in advance.

10 seconds, that's a long time when your about to back up. Especially if you have traffic around for whatever reason. Hopefully it's been tweaked to like less than 2 seconds or something. Response time has to better than 10 seconds
