Hi gediminas!! Just did a simple multipipe model just like in the video and tried to actually FABRICATE it !! And it worked and its really an amazing and such a rewarding feeling ! I mentioned you in instagram stories of the process i wish i can share pictures here so everyone would see it , because there is no CARDBOARD smooth surface physical model done using this method online at all!

Try using Ivy when unfolding the mesh, I was surprised how easy and fast it is. Also, it makes the stitches really smart, naming each piece correspondingly as well.

Yea, good idea - Ivy would be better for the unfolding. I'll do a follow up video

Great tutorial, so satisfying to watch as always! The only thing to add might be to find a way to leave out the tabs on the naked edges.

We'd need to find an alternative way on connecting the strips together then - I have no other ideas..

@@DesignGoBrr I've managed to remove the shortest edges from the contour polygons. (find creases within angle tolerance, combine those to a new polygon, sort segments by length & select first 2 (the naked edges). Then compare original polygon segments with shorties and cull out short ones. That gives me the edges to stitch..)

Hi! Please do show how to separate the polygon loops if you can. I have came across the same issue previously and could not figure out how to resolve it. Thanks for the awesome tutorial as always!

Amazing video still would be amazing jumpo into the issue of the polygon loops the closest i could get it is to bake the mesh cut it ina half to basically cut the loops manually and then jump again into GH with unroller, thanks for the tutorial amazing work!

Geat totoria thank you for sharing! Will the no-planar quads cause problems in the fabrication? Before unfolding the mesh, will it be better to triangulate it? or probably the difference is minimal and it is not worth doing the extra step? Cheers, thanks!

Technically it should work, but I'd triangulate the strips either way to make sure that the unfold error is minimal

Hi Gediminas, I can not make "Unroll Mesh Stripes" work, it said "Sequence contains no elements", but Unroll Mesh works. Any tips?

Try using the clean tree node before inputting into the unroll mesh stripes, this is because some of the items in your mesh list might be null
