My EQ5 Pro did not come with link cable for the motor controller. Can you provide a URL to a supplier of said cable? Many thanks.

Can you help me? I tried to update my dobsonian Sky watcher go to with the wi fi loader firmware, I have the wrong file and now it tells me that it can no longer find the engine, I tried to put that correct firmware and It told me something like this: cycle Power button, Power off, etc... I did it but nothing happened. And it can't find the telescope anymore, if I go into the telescope it tells me it can't find the motors And it says it's not available, DO you KNOW HOW TO REPLACE THE ORIGINAL FIRMWARE? HELP ME PLEASE

Hello, I am very sorry to hear this. I'm afraid I don't know how to replace the firmware/Software if the incorrect version has been loaded. I recommend contacting the dealer you got the scope from, or raising a call with Skywatcher to seek their advice. I am very sorry to not be able to assist with this and hope very much that you are able to get it fixed. Kindest wishes.

Are you sure this is V5 not V4?? Manual for V4 from their website shows only rj-45 and rj-12 sockets. No USB socket in V4. They stated cable RJ -usb is in box

When I connect my USB cable to my USB port the hand controller does not even power up and stays dark. My Computer sees there is a connection as Com Port 3. The Software Updater does not work because it can not find the hand controller.

Sam, I just received a new mount with a SynScan handcontroller. I had the same issue. The online documentation is poor, the SynScan manual that was sent was a bit better, at least it had cables that are not from the last millennium. Neither mentioned plugging it in to power. I don't know how AndyofAstro got his to work. I called Skywatcher. You need to hit the 0 and 8 buttons and while they are depressed plug in the USB AND the POWER CORD from the mount. Then release the 0 and 8 buttons. The hand controller says something update. Then the laptop information is available and my update was completed in about two minutes. I hope this works for you. @@drdentin3215 Thanks drdentin. Yes, this was the way I did go finaly. I just let the handcontroller on the mount and connected only via my USB to the computer- or laptop. Power for the handcontroller then also had to come from the mounts power supply. Then hit 0 an 8 and then it is easy to start the process.

Hello, thanks for this information. I think this is brilliant as it might help others! My initial thought is possibly the pc I was using had a higher USB current? Or that the hand controller might have been subtly different? Either way this is good information and I am very grateful for your input. Thanks

Hello, but is it worth updating the controller??My version is 4.39.5,and on wesite is 06.02.01.

In my case yes, my version was so old dinosaurs roamed the Earth when it was released, however if you are happy with the version you have and it works, then it is possibly not worth updating.

I know this is a month old, but do note the V6.xx and v4.xx software is different. The controllers using V4 software need to stay on the latest V4 software. Only newer controllers that come with V6.0 software should be updating on the V6 software. There's a note just under the V6 software on Skywatcher's website clarifying that.
