How to update GPS Navigation maps in Mitsubishi vehicle for free

In this tutorial I will show you how to download and install the latest map for in-car navigation system that is provided by TomTom and it is available in several Mitsubishi models.
This video tutorial could be applied to any model with SDA TomTom GPS Nav system like:
- Mitsubishi Pajero
- Mitsubishi Pajero Sport
- Mitsubishi Outlander
- Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (Plugin Hybrid)
- Mitsubishi ASX
- Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross
Model presented in the video is #Mitsubishi Outlander 2019 (no PHEV)
Any sold car with this type of GPS have 5-year free of charge support plan and you can easily update your #map to the latest versions without spending money.

Hi. I am in Africa. Would there be any problem encountered when installing maps from regions different from the default one in the car? E.g Taking a car with the european map and putting in a flashdisk with an east african map?

If any one has problem when memory stick connected but nothing happens, you should format it on FAT32 on Windows and upload files from Windows to driver. In my case I made it on Mac. Mac create some hidden files which made navigation update impossible. Good luck and sorry for my English.

Interesting, new map for his car was uploaded 6/2021 but after loading on new maps and he checks to see if it work and it says released 12/2020 .......... er so it it took Mitz 6 months AFTER the release of the maps to upload it to their web page ? Wow assume a lot has changed in 6 months !! Great vid Mr BB TV

Thanks for sharing this. A little tip: the format of usb drive needs to be FAT32, otherwise, the auto update doesnot start. My auto updating didn't work after inserting the usb drive with the map files being copied. Tried a few different ways. Eventually, it worked after formatting the USB drive to FAT32.

Hi, Do you happend to know what the problem can be when I make a phone call through hands free system and only my right passenger side speaker is working not the left one and the voice it not that great either, how can I fix it?

I assume that when you listen to the radios - both speakers are working? if so check the bluetooth configuration, maybe only the right channel (mono) is being transmitted to the device in the car or you have changed the Balance settings in the volume configuration.

try it with my 500GB external USB HDD, and it wont work. after i use a HDD Partition Programm to format from exFAT to FAT32 it Works. Thanks!

Maybe your files are corrupt or you have other file system tham Fat32, try to format your pendrive with Fat32 and copy files again

I'm same, 2010 outlander, mitsubishi no longer provide the update which I don't understand why, even if they kept old uodates, say 2018 and no longer did them I could understand but to have none is really frustrating

The USB stick must be formatted to FAT32 for this to work.

Welp, i just purchase 2023 mitsubishi outlander sport and my radio is useless😢😢 . It does not acknowledge MY ANDRIOD AUTO . I CAN ONLY USE THE BLUETOOTH. ITS SOOO USELESS. I DONT HAVE NO FEATURE..JUST A BASIC BASIC CAR. NO KEYLESS REMOTE, NO PUSH START, NO BLIND SPOT WARNING, NO EXTRA USB HUBS...NO NOTHING😢😢😢😢😢😢
