Funny I’m just now seeing this, I have aluminum 8’ sliding glass doors in my main bedroom I got rustolium high heat flat black taped the glass and around the wood frame then after I used the electrical tape did the squares also , to this day I’m so happy with it plan on doing the same with the 2 other 8’ sliders in my living room

I think if you rub n buff the bottom track it may stay better. I like the black a lot more! You can also just paint the trim and scrape the overspray off so it gets in all the edges! Maybe take the doors outside and just spray them?

Yes taking the doors outside to spray is probably the best option. I think I would do that if I were to do this project again.

Thank you for sharing. I plan on doing this to my mirrored closet doors, and I will definitely use your suggestions! I was thinking I might paint some pieces of thin wood trim black and glue them to the mirror with construction adhesive instead of using electrical tape. What are your thoughts on that?

That could work, but it would definitely be permanent rather than removable like you get with the tape.

How to do “windows”? What is this electric tape and how do you glue it?

Ya that window panes are just black electrical tape. It isn't glued, just taped. It could be removed later if needed.

It's sticky tape used by electricians to tape cables. You can use it for other stuff though, v useful 😊

Take them down and out to the garage sand mask PRIME and rattle can. you just did it wrong is all , try again

I’m sorry but electrical tape is the amateur thing to use. Should have used vinyl if you don’t know how to use anything else and it comes in a limitless number of colors and textures. Also, didn’t bother watching the full video but that paint won’t last if you didn’t to use etching primer or sanded the old stuff. Either way, looks okay but it won’t last. Not even for selling a home would I do that, but it’s easy to spot it is just tape used and that will make buyers wonder what other Mickey Mouse fixes were done around the house, which in turn will deter people from making offers.

Halfway through the video we recommend not doing this. Etching primer is a good idea if someone decides to give this project a go. Ultimately we weren't planning on keeping the doors for our home so this $20 update served its purpose until we ripped them out.
