This is because most if not all windows 7 and 8 licenses/license keys are allowed to activate Windows 10 as well.

Remember: If you have a potato machine, don't upgrade. It will just slow down. I would recommend sticking to the old OS and install some security apps and save up to buy a new one.

I am still using a L420 which is 14 yrs old, but still can run chrome and GeForce now adequately. Just instead install chrome os and it will be just like brand new. My laptop coated me $20 used because it has a dead battery, but it is still decent for basic tasks

I had an amazing time with Windows 7, it installed all the drivers immediately on my old laptop unlike XP, Vista and even 10. I'm going back. Windows 7 is truly an amazing experience

@@pawelmspplayzroblox7405 yes. Windows 7 installs the display drivers aswell, so it has a cleaner 16:10 1280x800 aspect ratio rather than a stretched out, blurry 4:3 1024x768 aspect ratio.

Important: Install all drivers on a drive except C: , as windows may remove those and you have problems with keyboard and mouse.

For those who cannot get the free upgrade from Windows 7 or 8.1 to Windows 10/11 it's because Microsoft blocked Windows 7 and 8.1 keys in new installs of Windows 10/11 meaning the only way to legitimately activate Windows 10/11 is to buy a product key but if you have already used your Windows 7/8.1 product key for Windows 10/11 before October 2023 your Windows will still be activated but if you try to activate Windows 10/11 after October 2023 by using a Windows 7/8.1 product key then you can't

It could be a file. Try installing it again, but select "Keep Nothing" Make sure you backup important files like photos, videos, documents, etc as everything would get deleted.
