Why did they start making the bottom cover solid without the doors for easy memory and HDD replacement? This discourages me from buying any of the newest laptops!

It's designed like that so you can't upgrade and you throw it away and buy new! Terrible isn't it. I hate this kind of marketing. Remeber when you could simply replace your phone battery... well now you can't and you have to bin the whole phone just because you battery died, well this is the same marketing principle. Don't even let these comanies preach to you about environmental issues! lol

I have a laptop acer aspire e11 es-131-c10x is it possible to add a SSD and make it a basic disk, that is, install the system windows instead of a emmc?

My Acer aspire Es1 531 laptop is not switching on .The charging light and power on light are lighting up when I connect to the charger ,without that it's not showing an sign . What could be the problems with it ?

That's something I can't get over, why don't newer laptops have access to the hard drive and ram? Now you have to take everything out even the main motherboard. I guess to make it harder for us techs. We now have to charge more to replace or upgrade the ram.

What you should do now that it's open, cut out a place on the bottom to easily update or downgrade the ram if needed and HDD. That's what i did and it works fine, now if I need to replace the HDD or ram, I can just flip over the laptop and have full access.

be aware. theres only one memory slot. Will end with 8 Gb RAM. You will need to change memory cards. Add a memory card is not possible.

@@MEM7000Brasil oh thank you. I still didn't upgrade. but i will in few weeks. It's extremely slow on Windows 10 home. I also plan to replace CD drive with SSD.
