and you can not stick in an msata SDD in the R1, but you can in the R2. I just wanted to make sure the memory 16gb was ok before I buy it like I did with the msata 256g plextor I bought and ended up sticking into my wifes laptop... The R2 PCI-e port is wired to electronically accept an SSD, the R! (which I halso have) is not :( thats the biggest suck difference..wish I had an R2 just so I could have extra SDD space internally.)

the really tricky thing is that they both do have the PCIe slot in the exact same place, exact same slot, but they are wired different. You can read about people sticking in an SSD msata in to an R2 but not an R1, so it is very easy to get that mixed up, especially when people say they are the same except the processor and gpu... I had to find that out the hard and expensive way... You can also often find that the m14x was offered with msata ssd or wihd, but hard to find out details about r1.

your title says R1 but then you say R2 in your video. Did you upgrade an R1 or an R2?

Do you know how much RAM the motherboard can handle and what type? Also where did you get the RAM from; ordering it off dell or just choosing your own?

NEVER work on carpet with socks on, let alone put your components on it, ESPECIALLY without an anti-static wrist strap. You shouldn't ever touch computer components, like ram, without one.
