some fantastic info, I might have taken the opportunity to squeeze some grease into the diff housing.
@RoadsideRC

That is always an interesting discussion point. I used to really worry about grease on my gears, etc. But...this isn't 1:1. The forces we are talking about really aren't that high. I like a thin coating if I am worried about water and rust...but otherwise I don't stress it in an application like this. However - I might be wrong!

Nice to see the RR10 is still available. I bought the full kit version some years ago so it had all the metal suspension parts, metal gears, better shocks and tyres as standard if I remember correctly. I put some chunky brushless motor in it just on 2S but it's performed much better that I thought it would; I think the batteries I'm using are 3800s and I get like 20mins+ run time out of it. I haven't really used it as much as I had planned to but it's been a heap of fun when I do. My first servo stripped out almost straight away so I put a decent all metal geared one in and it's been trouble free ever since. I've never adjusted the suspension positions to lower it so you have me thinking about that now. Mine has never displayed that torque steer effect to any degree. Is it worth looking at adding sway bars too?
@RoadsideRC
@RoadsideRC 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the detailed comment. I actually have the sway-bar kit, sitting in the bag, on my workbench. I keep delaying putting it in as the truck does rather well now with these changes. Heck - I even took 2nd place in a local crawler comp with it!

The problem with adding another pair of rear shocks or a sway bar limits the crawling twist. Do my upgrade and you get no torque twist, and more suspension articulation for crawling. I figured it out!!

Did you only sleeve the front axle, or did I miss the rear install? Reason I ask is that I've seen numerous accounts of the rear axles not fitting the axle tubes without grinding the larger diameter sections near the differential ends of the rear axles. Just wondering if you encountered that issues, or if perhaps you only did the front. Thanks.
@RoadsideRC
@RoadsideRC 2 жыл бұрын
I did front and rear. Both required a small amount of grinding on the axle. Didn't show it because of how little it was.

Are you including the stock components in the giveaway? If you do someone is gonna have an awesome pile of extras, definitely like that link upgrade, between those and the axle tubes you definitely make the CG much better even if you hadn’t changed shock positions, but that lower stance make it look as mean as the “paint” job. You’re killin this build 🤙🏼

Like the detailed information you give. Question,will the C hubs & rear lock outs from a scx10 fit on the Bomber? They look very similar & I have a set laying around and I just bought a used Bomber from a swap
@RoadsideRC

I don't believe the SCX parts will fit - it shares the design with the Wraith / SMT10.

Okay one last comment to prevent your rollover while you're driving your rock crawler like a race car 🙄 you can add sway bars and sway bar links to these cars and limit straps, sorry to if I'm sounding condescending dude, I'm just trying to hook a brother up✊🏻 oh and by the way I build the real things for a living in my Jeep modification shop, so even though I'm a newbie to the RC world I'm not to the off-road four-wheel drive King of the Hammers bomber car world 😎👍
@RoadsideRC
@RoadsideRC Жыл бұрын
The most common way folks use these bombers is as Rock Racers - even says it on the side of the box. Yes - sway bars are one of the most common modifications folks do to them to help.

That tie rod is supposed to bend like that it's your fail safe, it will keep you from busting your knuckles now that you put a stiffer one up there the next week is point is your knuckles , and that's what you will possibly break next 😉👉
@RoadsideRC
@RoadsideRC Жыл бұрын
I'm really glad you are here to help. I look forward to what all you add to the RC community. Do you have a Bomber? I have not actually understood that from all of your comments. In the previous iteration I had of this vehicle,, I attempted to keep as many of the stock links as possible, to allow the flex. Then - after my truck kept getting turned into a pretzel out on course, I finally broke down and swapped them over to metal. Guess what - nothing else broke. The truck just overall performed better. I realize that you may have great 1:1 experience, but I HIGHLY suggest you watch and listen to folks who have been doing this in 1:10 for awhile before you judge what is happening.
@MrFivepointfivesix
@MrFivepointfivesix Жыл бұрын
Those lower thingies🙄 that you call links , are supposed to bend Flex to keep you from breaking important shit, every one of these videos people complain about the same thing I guess they don't understand the importance of flexing, and the correct terminology for that would be your lower control arms and then you have your upper control arms and I'm a newbie at this but I don't understand why you people insist on not using correct terminology for the parts on these cars🤔, sorry I don't mean to sound like I'm ragging on you I'm Not" it's just the incorrect terminology for these bomber parts are driving me crazy.
@RoadsideRC
@RoadsideRC Жыл бұрын
When you look up the parts - they are literally named "links" by the manufacturer. When you search for the parts, they are literally called "links". Me using that terminology helps the folks find the parts. If you search for "control arms" instead of "links", you will find less results.
