@6:45 That shim, if you use GM gears usually goes back and has the same wear pattern. Sounds crazy right? but it does work out like that.

What kind of power with slicks is that 7.5 going to hold? I'm building an 85 Monte Carlo SS and I need a rear end upgrade, but I don't have the cash for a 9 inch Ford.

I havea 1991 Chevrolet S10, extended cab, 2wd that I'm building in memory of my father. That has a 4.3 non vortec V6 with the 700R4 transmission now. But wanting to know exact part numbers that you used because I want to beef up my 7.5 10 bolt to handle more and Im also gonna use a 3.73 gear ratio but I want to use posi Trac. And will be using a Cal Trac ok the rear with leaf springs.

if my 84 cutlass 7.5 rearend with open diff spins one wheel 2.25 times per driveshaft revolution, what ratio is that? can an s10 rearend be a donor for 84 cutlass or is it totally different track width as well as mounting system?
