This video is about how to upregulate dopamine receptors. So, how can we increase dopamine receptors? Or a better way to put it would be, how can we increase dopamine D2 receptor density? Well in this video we re going to talk all about how to repair dopamine D2 receptors after addiction and more.

I have such a strong brainfog from this addiction last week after multiple relapses i couldnt count what is 19-2. Seriously. Then i knew it was time to quit for good.

I recommend a game that uses math and abstract thinking named Math Cross. Memory games are good and necessary too

One major thing that helped me get my dopamine receptors back during a period of nofap was abstaining from the internet for over a month. I had done a few streaks in the past of nofap and had mixed results though did see some progress but the last time i tried going without internet too for a while and the changes and progress were much more pronounced and rapid than prior attempts. Within only 3 weeks i could get pleasure from the littlest things again and my mind was ultra sharp. I think the internet for me personally has a death by 1000 cuts effect on my dopamine receptors due to the unlimited novelty of thr web providing never ending small dopamine hits which have a larger negative cumulative effect.

@@lollolliii I've learned I cant use the internet for entertainment purposes for more than 10 hours per week before I start seeing negative effects, the worst offenders for me are KZfaq and Twitter/X due to the unlimited novelty so I try to keep my use to 10 hours per week, sometimes I go away over that though and have to take time off to undo the effects. Using the internet for more mundane things (research, work, financial stuff) is less of an issue since there isn't the same dopamine response so that's not much of a problem. If you are addicted to the internet though you have to take time off from non essential internet use before you can later limit it imo.

@@lollolliii No more than 10 hours of internet for entertainment purposes per week is optimal for me (mainly KZfaq and social media). If I go beyond that I notice desensitization starting to creep back in and have to take a rest from the internet for a little while. Keeping overall screentime down helps too. I had a rule that worked great after my internet hiatus where if I binged on internet and gaming for one day I had to take the next 2 days off screens entirely to prevent desensitization.

I actually heard that while too much dopamine kills brain cells for some reason (that's why the desensitization occurs naturally), overdosing on serotonin was impossible. Happy days!

my biggest and only obstacle is my lack of self discipline and self control skills. I decided to quit nofap and only focus on building these two first. I started meditating daily twice for 20 mins both before and after sleep so my brain can learn the skill faster. I also started exercise so that my brain and body make use of themselves and not degrade. after few weeks, I will start nofap again.

Been struggling to quit porn for almost a year now. My longest streak was 11 days. Hoping that my vacation trip next week will help me kick start things . One week without all the filthy tabs will probably feel amazing. My strategy is that after over a week without porn and not being able to have all those tabs open, I will have motivation to keep going.

Ride it out, your dopamine signalling is presently in a below baseline state to allow your dopaminergic neurons to recover back to normal, will take some time to get back to a normal state.

Hey DFW, there's been a question on my mind lately. What are the effects on your brain and sex drive when you suddenly shift into an environment with much more women? For example, during the summer, I'm playing video games most of the time, so I don't see girls very often. But when I go back to school, everything switches. Now I see much more women. We take medications to help with whatever our doctors have prescribed them for. NoFap is just about living life and has nothing to do with if we are using medications or not. So don't worry about it.

Good video, a 3 and 13.5 % increase for those who exercisesd from quitting meth sounds underwhelming. Would have expected a huge increase considering meth boasts dopamine to oblivion.

There's no "should". You can experiment how you like. But Cdp choline, inositol and a good omega 3 fish oil might be a good choice 👍

You don't have to worry. It's not like "it's a given" to feel bad after a relapse. Too much online porn can potentially cause negative effects over years of using, not just form one day. Just try to live a porn free life, look at the big picture, and don't worry. You're doing a great job.
