🥰 Love, love, love everything you shared with us on this video. Yes, everything . . . from creating your design using Embrilliance software, selecting the hoop size, saving it as a split file to your USB stick, loading and selecting new file to your SE1900, preparing your hoop while explaining each step including which stabilizer to use and why, etc. . . . you get my point 😉. The finished product was beautiful and in my opinion, your video recording skills are just fine. You have the gift of teaching and for us “Visual” learners, you are so much appreciated. Thanks for sharing you can take off the basting stitch in the Embrilliance program or you can simply skip the stitches on the machine just the same way as you went back on some stitches you can go forward but the basting stitch is very good for two reasons you don't have to hold down the wss an you are sure your work is properly line up

Thanks for doing this video. I have a small and large machine and I had purchased the larger hoop for my small one and never used it. I then bought this machine in January to leave at my daughter’s house in NC for when i visit, so good to know how it works. You can take the basting box out by just skipping that stitch on the machine or deleting it in the software. I usually just skip it on the machine by advancing to the next color. 😀

Why did you choose Embrilliance vs Hatch? I am trying to select a digitizer to match with my SE1900

@@racemode I chose Embrillance because it works on a MAC. I don't have a windows machine. I have had positive things about Hatch but it doesn't work on Apple products. When you look at Hatch make sure you ask the question about creating files to use with a 5x12 hoop. Not sure if their software will create the files you need to use this hoop on the SE1900.

Jeanette, I see that in the Embroidering LCD screen (at the bottom, left) there is an icon that says “Always press when removing Embroidery unit”. Thinking on this operation we will have to be very careful to do it, because if the “HOOPS 4x4 or the smaller oval one” are still attached to the carrier, they will hit the sawing foot and I think it is possible this will cause damage to the sewing machine, don’t you think?. I haven’t see any tutorials that will mention this “ICON”. It should be explained that the HOOP has to be remove first, before you hit the ICON. Cheers, keep it up !! Great videos henrycar

There should not be any hoop attached if your removing the unit. That’s not for removing hoops! It’s when your turning the machine back to seeing. Just thought I’d let you know in case your misunderstanding what that’s for

Don't know if this was figured out but the basting stitch can be removed on your machine by skipping the stitches with the plus minus on the screen if your machine has that option.

Nice tutorial. Love this overlay hoop option. Why not use the Spool Forward button to skip the basting box? Your name turned out lovely. You managed fine w/out the tripod. Sometimes we just have to improvise and you did. Yay!

Jeanette, I think the "basting stitch was to secure the "topping" so it won't move around while the embroidery proceeds.

Yep it is. I was going to skip this step the next time I did a towel but decided to keep it. It's does help to keep everything in place.

I love your videos so much!! Wondering if you have suggestions on how to center the design when split? I’m wondering if I will just have to see where the first design will start and end, and then measure how long the 2nd design is to make sure the full name is centered on my towel hmm

You can print out the templates and use that. Make sure to test out the embroidery design first. You don't want to mess up your blank. Glad you are enjoying the videos! Have fun embroidering.

Do you always float on the 5x12? I have hooped my garment bc the desigb is very dense. The 2 designs do not align along the 12" side. I suspect I had hoop bounce. Any suggestions?

Hello, I cannot find the hoop or the clip for embroidering caps se 1900. I looked on Etsy for hat hoop. The one that I thought resembles yours dames diff. Machines but not SE 1900.

HI Brenda. See a message to the shop owner. They will let you know that is the correct listing. If you see a listing for the PE800 this is it. The PE800 and SE1900 uses the same hoop.

Thank you for showing us that we DO have options with hoops sizes. I just purchase a SE1900 and I am taking baby step with the embroidery part. Loved how the name stitched up on the towel, now you need to put it on a robe too! What is the brand of the huge spool of thread you used? Also, do you have a preference as far as thread brands?

You can use the button on the machine to skip that step by advancing to the second color for the top and bottom files and then the machine doesn’t stitch the boxes.

I used Embrillance and you have to save it for a reposition hoop use. Make sure it is saved as PES file if you are using a brother machine. It will provide you tow separate files for the machine.

Hi Dorthy Yes. Just remove the step from the file. You can also just skip that step on the machine. Just fast forward to the next stitch.

I just bought embrilliance essentials and I can't see it on the computer and when I load the file on the sewing machine the basting stitches are there. Knowing how to be able to skip this stitching on my machine would be great!

Hi Judy! I'm glad you are enjoying the videos, don't every be afraid of trying things. You learn from mistakes. You have no idea how many I have made. You will only get better. If the towel is thick like the one I was using in the video it will be difficult to put it inside the hoop. You can try but you will see that the thickness of the towel will make it difficult. The best method I use for thick materials is to "float" it. Which is to use the sticky stabilizer or use the spray on the stabilizer to make the fabric stay in place. Give it a try. You will get the hang of it and might end up floating everything. LOL....

That might be the basting lines added to the image, so there's an option to uncheck the basting. Maybe try that out so it doesn't do a stitching around it. Love the video.

Hi Autumn, Just saw your comment. Stretchy fabric is tricky but it can be done. I use heavy cut away stabilizer and spray temporary adhesive. You want to make sure the fabric doesn't shift while you are embroidering. You can also use no show mesh as well to help try everything stable.

I’m new to embroidery . I have a Brother PE 1800 and haven’t used it . Do you think I can use this hoop on my machine? Why do you have to split the design? Why can’t it jus be one file ?

Hi Ivette. You should be able to. However you do need two files. The SE1900 uses a 5x7 hoop and will only embroider within the 5x7 area. You will need to reposition the hoop and pull up the other file so the machine can continue to embroider in the area beyond the 5x7. I think you meant the PE800. I don't believe there is a Brother PE1800.

Hi Cynthia. Make sure the space on your USB memory isn't too big. I noticed that if I use anything bigger than 32 I have issues. Also watch for the size of the design. Make sure it's a 5x7. If it's bigger than you won't be able to see it on the machine.

Hi Linda. Yes. I do save it that way. Make sure you are using the reposition hoop option in Embrillance. This way it will create the two files for you.

You can get the hoop back on the screen by selecting view and then draw hoop.

@@BoricuaSewingCrafts I should have made my comment more clear. I meant the bast stitch box. I hit the thread + to skip the first step (that box around the letters) it skipped it all together. But had I not watched your video I would have had it also lol wasn’t sure it would work, but it did. I’m still new with all this and I watch all your videos and tell everyone I know who’s starting out, your the best teacher! You take your time explaining the details and show us every single step as you go, not many videos do what you do and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!! I never intended to sell my stuff, but because of you I’m getting so good that even my husband says I’m ready and I should take the plunge. The worst that can happen is I close up shop right? I won’t know unless I try. I’m gonna start small, towels, dinner napkins and golf stuff that’s it. Thanks again Jeanette

no the basting stitch is for holding your fabric so it dont shift

Hi Ariana. You can use other embroidery software to do this. If you are trying to enlarge the design in the machine you will be limited to the 5x7 hoop.

You can make the files smaller on the SE1900. I prefer to use Embrillance.

You need to create the file for a re-positional hoop. When you do this, you will have two embroidery files. I stitch out one file at a time.

Do you need to unstitch those squares in background or are there any way around that? If not how would the finished product look after taking them out. I’m using brother se1900 I’m really new to this

Unstitches the squares is simple but you can skip this step. Just forward onto the next color.

Hi Linda! Yes. This is actually very helpful especially when you are doing towels. They can be bulky.

HI Alicia. Welcome to the world of embroidery!!!! Yes. You do have to have software to use the 5x12 hoop. The software creates the 2 files you need to embroidery the top and bottom.

Hi Marie. I have Level 3. But to create the file to use on a 5x12 hoop you only need essentials.

Hi Jenny, Embrilliance Essentials comes with a couple of fonts but not many. Most of the fonts you see on the video are fonts that I purchased and installed.

Don't give up! Use scrap fabrics until you got it. This way you don't ruin your blanks.

Hello! I've learned so much from you. I tried saving my 5 x 12 hoop the way you do it, and I dont get two saved files ( top and bottom) . It just saves as 1 Split design. I have an Hp computer. Is it different with Hp? Whaa help!

Hi Natalie. I use a MAC. I would contact the folks at Embrillance to see if they can help. Make sure you are selecting the re-positional hoop when you are saving the file. I've made that error in the past.

Jeanette, I've followed your video for the Jumbo hoop in Embrilliance and got to the point of saving my work and it won't save as stich and working file, so I can't transfer the embroidery to my se1900. I wrote out the text Buffalo Soldier on the Jumbo hoop but it won't save it in my working files, HELP!!!!!

Hi Gregory, Do you have the full blown version of Embrilliance Essentials? If so you need to ensure that you are selecting Multi position hoop. The hoop needs to be in the horizontal position when saving. This will provide you the two files you need.

Hi Toby, It's topping. You need to use this or your embroidery stitches will sink into the towel and it won't look right. If you search for Embroidery Topping on Amazon you will find it.

Hi Amberea. Yes. There is two way to do this. You can remove the step when you created the file in the software or when you are at the machine you can skip it.
