Here I will show you a project we just finished a part of. We demo a garage floor and pour a new concrete floor and some support sono tube footers for some structural issues. I try to shed some light on how and when to tip your blades on a power trowel as the floor becomes harder and harder with each pass. I hope you enjoy the video and any comments or questions be sure to leave them below. Also be sure and subscribe and hit the bell notification for more great how to videos.

Does your ready mix supplier put polyheed in as an “add on”? We would charge extra for doubling the polyheed, but not charge for the typical 3 ounces per hundred weight of cement. I did have some customers that didn’t like any chemicals and we would take it out. Towards the end of my concrete career, I supplied the concrete for NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas. I used Glenium in the shear wall mix. It was 8,000 psi pea gravel mix. It was a learning experience for me. You put it in when batching and not on the job like the old rheobuild. I’ve been directly involved in over 1,000,000 yards of concrete, hitting the ground in northeast Arkansas. We have steel mills here and they take a lot. In fact, I went to work for one of the mills here. I used to work for Razorback Concrete and the thing I miss the most, is the people that I met over the 25 years. Stay safe brother! I definitely liked and subscribed! Randy Chandler

Thats awesome Randy. Sounds like you got a ton of experience with concrete. I should ask you questions on mix design. 👍 We got charged extra for the Polyheed in this mix design. You definetly meet alot of good people in this business. I cant believe all the awesome people I meet on KZfaq like yourself. Thanks for Subscribing buddy. 👍😊😊

Hey buddy. I have a trowel that is exactly like yours. It always wants to fight me to one side pretty hard unfortunately. The trowel is in really good condition but I got it used for a good price. I read that the spider bearing is out of balance. How do I put that back in balance?
@bondobuilt386
@bondobuilt386 2 жыл бұрын
Sounds to me like maybe someone hit something or dropped it. The arms the blade mount to might be bent. Thats probably why it was so cheap. I'm not sure how to fix that. sorry bud.

@@bondobuilt386 I was also thinking it was dropped. I appreciate the response. Keep up the good work. I'll stay after it and if I find that there's an adjustment to fix the problem, I'll let you know what the fix was.

Maybe try to take it off and true it by spinning it like you'd check if a bike wheel is bent by spinning it? Idk I never even used one of thes things lol

Why are you holding farther down on the handle of the powers screed with your left hand sometimes instead of pulling on the handle?
@bondobuilt386
@bondobuilt386 3 жыл бұрын
Mike thats a great question. Thats usualy because my puddlers are not doing a good job. Im trying to pic up one side od the screed and push down the other side because one guy has it good and the other side is high. If they had it nice and to grtade I could fly right through there and just hold the handles.
@mikebolinger5359
@mikebolinger5359 3 жыл бұрын
Makes sense. That answers my next question. I was going to ask why sometimes one of my sides is cutting down too low and the other side rides high.

@@bondobuilt386 sometimes I feel like I have to hold mine up on top of the concrete too. I’m considering getting the screed demon power screed instead. It seems like it would float better. One thing that I think has helped me is by slowing down and barely having the throttle up.
@bondobuilt386
@bondobuilt386 3 жыл бұрын
@@mikebolinger5359 I think the key is having the grade real close. if your trying to pull back a bunch of material its a pain. Sometimes i stop and grab the puddlers cumalong and rake it down myself. LOL I think the screed demon would float better. Mike Day uses it alot on his chanel and he poures a 8” slump. Looks like cow manure. LOL
