I once got lost in the mountains in the fog. Now I knew where I was and the next second I was going down a slope full of slippery tree trunks.. It was summer. In winter such a situation would have been fatal. Very interesting videos!

Glad you enjoyed the videos 😊. Even in summer, slippery tree roots could give you a twisted ankle and leave you stranded, so I think you did well to get back safely 👍

Most enlightening and makes you appreciate the differences between an amateur walker (me) and someone with serious intent (you). Thanks again John.

I have to have my hair cut again now as this was filmed 3 weeks ago and Miss & Mrs Camping Astronomer were playing it a bit safe. Miss CA will be doing it again this weekend and being a bit more adventurous (so she tells me) 🤣🤣

The Ben Nevis is no joke. The 1st time I did it (snow and cloud) only realised when i was staring down at a gray line i was stand less than 1 foot from the very edge, and didn't even know. I've since done it 3 times and i am extremely cautious and careful.

Absolutely right, I think many people under estimate Ben Nevis, particularly in winter.

I came to your channel through astrophotography but I'm also a keen hill walker and lost my bearings a few times. So this video was very interesting and very well edited.

Blimey...Ben Nevis isn’t a place for mere mortals by the sound of this Jon 😳. Rubbish fitness levels would keep me away, and now I realise that rubbish orienteering abilities would also be the death of me 😬! I could do the hot chocolate and sausage roll thing though 🤣😂😊
