just upgraded from switch lite today. i was going to check the "instructions" but it's only a health and safety guide. the least they could do is mark the outside of the switch where the micro sd port is.... thank you for the video! 🎮🕹👍

Thanks! This worked so well, but I have 2 questions. So adding this MicroSD Card will basically upgrade your storage? Like if I download Minecraft Dungeons, it goes straight into the MicroSD card instead of the normal storage that comes with the Nintendo Switch? For the second question, I didn't have to Initialize or format anything, it just worked as soon as the update finished. Is that weird? Am I doing it right?

What if you never inserted an sd card before and just recently bought a new one for more storage. Do i still need to format it? Edit: I didn't format it. I just inserted the new sd card and it works just fine. It added the extra storage so I don't think it's necessary to format it at all. Unless your sd card is used or has saved data then you may want to format it.

thanks for mentioning the click you need to hear...... it might be obvious to lots of people but that was the bit I was missing and couldn't work out why it wasn't registering the card when I seemingly did everything else right

Thanks that really helped, also when you put yours in how many GB did it show as I had a 128GB one too but it showed on the Switch that it had 116GB left of Memory and I still had 1GB left on System Memory so I just wondered if a similar thing occured with yours too.

It could be the device[switch] installing drivers and updates to optimize the card, same thing happens with OS on computers and phones

@@wizzerdla Have a 1TB Now as the Switch can handle up to 2TB but the highest Micro SDXC Memory Cards go is a TB so you you'll have plenty of storage and don't worry about the costs I found a great deal for my 1TB Lexar instead of having to pay hundreds you just need to browse all to possibilities.

Go into settings and find the setting to format as card or your sd card may be corrupt if it’s not a Nintendo official sd card and that may also be another reason since Nintendo switch only recognised sd cards Nintendo affiliates with

Try buying something and see if it asks you. You can move data freely between the 2 anytime so as long as you have wrought space on your console it can be moved to your sd

I'm not entirely sure. But try Archiving all games from SDCard. Turn off console. Put in new SD card. Format new SD card. Redownload games.

Save data from the original card onto a file in your computer put the other sd card in the computer save the file from original into the new card then put it in your nintendo
