So I'm watching your video and something that might help you that really help me is I will glue the cabochons to the area of the skin that I want to cut out and let that dry and then cut around it and then you can get it nice and smooth and adjust it however you want it inside the Tray. Seemed I was able to I to get a smoother look in my jewelry. And I use the diamond glaze for everything! How this helps! I love your videos and you have been so helpful. Thought I would repay the generosity! Much luv

I also use page/document protectors to store my skins. I find that HEAVY DUTY (as opposed to lightweight) works best. I place my glass cabochon(s) directly onto the skin, and move them around until I find a design I like. Then I glue them directly onto the skin with the Diamond Glaze/glue,. Once the glue sets, I cut the glass cabochon directly out of the skin, then proceed as normal from there.

I make bookmarks and refrigerator magnets out of my drippings. I can use a balloon to dip into the drippings and dab that on watercolor paper for bookmarks. I also use a small water balloon to dip onto the flat backs of cabochons and make magnets. Now you gave me the idea to make pendants out of those also. Lots of good uses for drippings.

@janebrownell6828
@janebrownell6828 2 жыл бұрын
@@rhondapearce Hello. I use flat backed cabochons. I balloon dip the flat side, when dry I glue magnets on the backs. Sometimes i have to add paint to the backs if I did not cover the whole thing. I usually use a sponge and put a layer of gold or silver. That has to dry before applying the magnets. They are fun and people love them.

Wow, that glaze really makes a difference! I'll have to try that. I usually put the e6000 on the back of my cabochon and then put that on the paint skin. I don't cut the paint skin until that dries...its much easier to cut I think. Then I glue the bezel and cabochon together with whatever glue I have handy. I'm going to try your method though because I think yours may be clearer than mine.

Could you use the drips from the canvas and just place a bunch of bezels around underneath while you make a painting and see what you get in them when you are done? You could always wash them off or pour them back into the tub of paint you scrape off the table if they're too muddy/look rubbish?

Now I've seen you do it I'm going to try it myself. Is there an alternative to the diamond Glaze cos we don't have hobby lobby in Canada. Could I use the glaze I use on my paintings and then stick it together when that's dried. I always use Gorilla Glue Clear Grip as E6000 smells yucky. That's a great tip about storing the skins. I always bunged mine in a bag and then I have to separate them somehow. Tomorrow I'm off to buy document protectors. Thanks so much.

Your directions are excellent. I ordered the materials needed from your links. One thing that you have that you show on the necklace cordage is an extra silver ring that you attached to the pendant and looped thru the black cordage. Where do you get the round circle silver ring? I think they are called "jump rings". What size did you use?

@JMoPainting
@JMoPainting 7 ай бұрын
I have gotten those too and the silver spots are air bubbles from the texture of the skin. Add enough diamond glaze to the top of the skin and press the cabochon down hard to press the air bubbles out. Clean up the little bit of glaze that pressed out and that should solve your problem.
