How To Use Any Font In Geometry Dash (PC/Steam)

Күн бұрынA complete tutorial on how to change the font in GD from Pusab to... well whatever you want. I've spent the last few days learning how to do this and I would like to share this information with y'all :)
As far as I know the program I used is the best for this, but I could be completely wrong so let me know!!

Pin this if you want: The usual size for high graphics: 80-90 The usual size for medium graphics: 40-45 Goldfont: The usual size for high graphics: 70 or around that amount The usual size for medium graphics:35 or around that amount.

size for high: 64 size for medium: 35 size for low: 18. thats what worked for me

Haha I've used the same tool for like two years, but couldn't record a tutorial :( I've had like idk, thousands of fonts that I've made usable for GD, idk what to do with them... But thanks for the tutorial!

this was so helpful! i finally know how to make custom fonts. unfortunately i can't use them because it somehow makes the Mega Hack overlay flicker (which is a problem on my end) but thanks anyways!

Nice tutorial! By any chance out of curiosity, do you know if changing the font is possible on mobile? Cause I am a mobile player :)

i believe its possible and works the same way as PC. if you are able to access the assets of your game it's the same process, although you would need to make the font smaller for medium graphics

there is just one problem, when you refresh your login the password dots don't show

I believe its because for passwords (and the blending dot) it uses • so what you can do is just add that character to the sprite font characters and it should work

@@WaveriderGD OKAY so turns out there is one extra step you have to do. You'll have to open your bigFont-uhd.fnt file. In here all the characters are listed in row, scroll until you find the bullet point that you put in (it will say: letter="•"). Find that and go all the way to the left until you see "char id=0" change the number 0 to 8226 and it should work i just tested this

you have to install the font onto ur pc, not just download it

i imported the big font and it worked, but for some reason when i import my gold font with quite literally no spelling mistakes at all the game still uses the original gold font that isnt even in the game files anymore. please help

steam has a feature where you can reset your games files to the default so thats one way to do it. you can also have someone send you the originals if they have it as well

i have no idea. make sure you put it in the right spot and replace the old font since ik someone didnt put it in the right spot before

you only have to replace the -uhd font. you'd only replace the -hd one if you are playing on medium graphics

idk why, but robtop made sprite of the dot that shows blending in color channel in a font file, and its always disappears when use the custom font, what can i do? (sry for my bad english)

@@Tapo4ina you could maybe try to change the size setting in the .fnt file itself? if that doesn't work you'll have to recreate the font as you can't open pngs or fnts in the program

Very helpful, however when i refreshed the textures the text was way higher then it was meant to be. is there an offset that can be put in anywhere or do i just need to find another font?

you are able to change the offset in the .fnt file itself, but it's very manual as you have to do it for every individual character which sucks if i had to guess, there is probably a program out there to edit the font you downloaded but idk what that would be. so as far as im aware, picking a new font is the easiest "solution"

You can change the common line height and lower it so that all characters can be seen. It's in the fnt file!

@@YoWSticK i use hiero bitmap font tool and you can change that stuff and with the other things like borders, colors, gradients, etc, pretty stable and useful though i dont remember how to use it lol, it has been a while since i used it. i saw it on a tutorial but i lost the video, it had like 2k views

@@thetetrisking-nes You need to go to the SpriteFontBuilder and change the size there. Eighty-five would be way too big.
