I also get my nematodes from Ladybird Plant Care. They are very effective and you really don't see the nematodes at all. The idea creeped me out at first, but I quickly forgot they were in my plants and was delighted to see a reduction in gnats within 5 days and the outbreak I had in the summer was gone in a few weeks.

I used nematodes in the fall for the first time. They are awesome! Despite having several electronic traps, which were catching TONS of adult fungus gnats, they were still a constant problem in my house. Within days of using the nematodes, the difference was really noticeable. Within two weeks, I wasn't seeing them. I'm definitely a believer!

Hi Emma, this is great information and I think I may give them a try. Speaking of the yellow sticky sheets, I get the large ones and place them in the open window of my plant room and OMG, the amount of gnats is crazee. They are so small that they come in through the screening of the window. But it does help so much in reducing the flying ones in spring and summer when I have the windows open!

Nice video. Gnats don’t have to be an issue and I think it’s sad how many people give up on this hobby because of them. It’s great that there are different options to match personal preferences. Glad you mentioned the downsides to adding hydrogen peroxide to soil. Just FYI, from what I see online, BTi (an ingredient in Mosquito Bits and Dunks) isn’t something pests become resilient to. That’s what makes it pretty great (beyond the fact that it also doesn’t harm roots). Totally get why some people don’t want to have to reapply it but it’s a viable option if adding it to your routine sounds reasonable. Either way, pest warfare is cool too.

I always use the nematodes on my moss poles since they gnats live in there as well. Also use it in my pon since I’ve seen gnats come crawling out. I’m guessing they are eating the roots at die off.

Fungus gnats do live in moss poles. I have all my plants in semihydro and had fungus gnats flying out of my moss poles.

cool video ;-) I was wondering if you (or anybody really) had ever heard of or even tried using neem cakes to make neem tea and water your houseplants with it? Theres relly not a lot of informations about it online and im very curious to know if it really works

What a fantastic idea for a video! I buy nematodes and they come in tiny packs that just get placed into my plants and watered for 3 days. I like yours better but I’m in Canada so I will take what I can get 🎉🎉 but I also have quite a few pings that trap the adults

Thank you for the advice but this video could have been heavily edited 😅 a lot of repeating and rambling. Please don’t take offense to that I promise it isn’t personal, just some advice! But great info and will look into this but *knock on wood* mosquito bits solved my problem.
