Great question. The strips are incredibly effective so that's really all you need for your average at-home whitening process. The light helps with more difficult stains from coffee, red wine, etc. The strips are large and generally big enough to cover the entire front of your teeth and flap over behind them just a little.

The one I have is 3 minutes. It's Crest brand but it came with the whitening pen, not the strips. So I don't know if there's a difference in the times for different kits.

I wonder if I’m using the exact same ones mine say wear for 1 hour :/

Dry off your teeth before you apply and they'll stick really well. I use a paper towel to dry them right before I put on the strip

That's great! It depends on if/how sensitive your teeth are. For my weekly - long challenge, I used it about 5 times in now week. The results lasted quite a while. I actually just pulled my first Crest Whitestrip out for the first time in months!

I have that problem…. The light isn’t working correctly just 2-3 seconds and it goes off …. I have no idea how to fix it

Crest offers several different packs. This pack has 14 strips and comes with the light. You can use the strips everyday for 14 days for maximum results or use them however often you’d like because some may experience sensitivity or because you might be satisfied with the whitening after just a few uses. How often you repurchase another kit all depends on you. There is no “have to” date. If you feel/want to brighten them again, then you can purchase another pack. There is also no set date for how long results last because everyone’s habits are different. For example, I don’t drink red wine or soda and only drink coffee through a straw so my results will likely last much longer than someone who does all of the above. I hope my answers helped. I do have another question and I'm sorry if it has been addressed already, but - I found a shop that sells a pack of 3 uses. Will 3 uses be enough to see a difference? Google gives me the answer that I have to use them minimum of 2 weeks, which is why I'm confused as to why are there 3 day packs being sold, and will that do anything for me?

@@dmenwatson1954 They are not meant for people who already have white teeth. They're for everyone. My husband had stains from all of the Early Grey he drinks and it helped him whiten his teeth by several shades.

There are strips that you are meant to wear for an hour and there strips that are for quick brightening that are for only 30 minutes. You would need to read the pack to see what results you should expect but understanding that results vary because it might be easier or harder to brighten someone's teeth depending on the condition they're in when you start. The box says not to use it more than once a year and only once a day

I would use the strips as directed because it can cause sensitivity. Some strips only need 30 minute applications and there are others that you can use for 45 minutes to an hour. They all whiten so I would look into different versions and see which ones are right for you.

I brush my teeth in the mornings right after waking up and right before I go to bed. Some people prefer to brush after every meal. To be clear - teeth whitening isn't a part of a regular hygienic routine. It's an extra step one can take if you want to whiten teeth for aesthetic reasons. So this process can be done at any time of day but I would do it after or in between meals and avoid any food or drinks that stain teeth on days you do this.

You don’t. It’s planned obsolescence. They don’t want you using the light with other products so they make it die shortly after your kit is used up, forcing you to buy their products again, all while wasting resources that are difficult to recycle.

Professional whitening is definitely great for those who can afford it since it’s not something dental insurance covers if one has dental insurance to begin with. Have a great, Tyler.

@@jessicayflores of course so. I am not saying that whitening kits do not work, they do. I am only commenting on the addition of the LED light. The LED lights sold with at-home whitening kits are only a gimmick. Just use the products without the light, as it's a gimmick to raise the consumer retail cost. I love at-home whitening.

How strong is the HIL blue LED like how long would you have to look at it without goggles for it to damgage your eyes

Well, that would depend on the unit, as they are all different wattages and the hue can run slightly differently between brands as they are all customized for the units as brand-unique proprietary IP. A glance or light/leakage around your eye protection won't harm you. What can cause harm is direct viewing of the diode(s) purposely. It's the same with any high intensity light source.
