Wasn't sure how well these would work, but this convinces me that they are well worth the money. It is really informative to see how many ways you use these, and the color comparisons to the tube colors. They also look like they might be somewhat easier to control than diluted colors from a pan or tube. Thank you so much for the in-depth look at these. Everyone should check out your Instagram page - your work is phenomenal! So many different styles and subjects - very talented!

Absolutely the best and most thorough product review I've ever seen. You should be a brand ambassador. You've sold me on a product I didn't even want. Daniel Smith needs to contact you lol.

So glad someone actually did something interesting with these sticks! Every KZfaq video I have seen has been of people simply using them just swatching them and using them like pan watercolours, which... what's the point? I love the sticks and it's great to see someone showcasing their full potential, for once!! Please do more videos, your work is so free and it's delightful to see you have fun with it. Also, not sure of the music in the background is yours or if it's coming from outside, but I love it too! 😀

Although the artist called one of the sticks "a crayon," these are not. They're just pigment and binder. They're basically a bigger pan paint. Beautiful artwork, Alison!

Beautiful thank you. I have been interested in these for quite a while. Expensive though. The also sell plastic cases for the sticks. I like your more common sense container with paper towel.

@@AlisonPintoArt what I love here is that you not only show us how to use this watercolour supply, but also how to play with it. Watching you using the knife was really inspiring, and made me think about how to step forward from the basic techniques for watercolours! If you use watercolours (pencils, markers, pans or tubes...) in other ways, or even in mix-media projects, please do a video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge :)

I just got 3 ice stick trays with lids 3 with 10 slots each for $12.00 on Amazon. Way cheaper than buying the Daniel Smith plastic case holders that are 5 slots for 10 dollars each.

Yes! With the exception of a couple of known fugitive pigments, the sticks have the same properties as their tube counterparts 😊
