Japanese Beetles are an invasive species that will eat anything in your garden. Here's how you can use diatomaceous earth to help control these pests in your garden.
Diatomaceous earth is a fine powder made of the fossilized remains of aquatic creatures called diatoms. Their skeletons are made of silica. It is not poisonous and does not need to be eaten to work. It is safe for wildlife, including pollinators, and aquatic invertibrates. It kills the beetles by drying out the oils and fat contained in their exoskeletons, preventing them from reproducing.
