[How To Use] Film-Free Metallic Waterslide Decal Paper (Gold/Silver)

Күн бұрынOur company, Sunnyscopa Inc, allows you to print gold or silver foil and transfer it to the surface you wish to personalise. This is our brand-new product that we have just started selling from July 2017. FILM-FREE METALLIC DECALs also have wide range of applications such as glass, ceramics, metals and more. This product is revolutionary especially in DIY industry, where it is extremely difficult to produce high quality gold or silver designs at home.
To use this product: you must first print your personalised logo or design on the blue decal paper and place the gold or silver foil on top of the printout. Feed the overlapping papers through the laminating machine then remove the foil. Laminate again for the second time but with a white coating paper on top. This time remove the blue paper but after dabbing it with a wet tissue. Apply on the surface with glue W1 or W2 and remove the final backing. The steps will become less complicated with more practice.

I would like to use this on the headstock of a guitar. Obviously I cannot put it in the oven, so can the final curing stage be done with a hairdryer or similar?

We never tried it on the head stock of guitar. But, it could work with hair dryer. You will use film-free metallic decal paper with glue w1+ Before drying, clean off the glue residue with wet wipes completely. It is too hard to remove the glue mark after drying.

Christine Valerio Hi, Christine. No, not for the metallic as yet. The metallic is not for porous surfaces so either way w2 has no use. Hope this helps :)

You mentioned putting this in the oven. Is it safe to use your home oven or does it require a separate one that is not used for your normal day to day cooking before and after using your products?

You say that you can allow the decals to dry naturally before removing the film but when I tried that the decals didn't stick. Also, when I dry them in the oven (as per pack instructions ) they bubble up even though they were completely wrickle and bubble free before hand. Any help with this would be appreciated as I was so excited about using your product!

Hi Zoe Rogers, You must bake it in the oven at 100C for about 10 minutes. Natural dry can not make it. Air bubbles could be caused from the water remained under the decal. Carefully remove the water with squeegee rubber before putting in the oven. Too high temperature in the oven can make the wrinkles. Good Luck!

Can I use this technic on candles? I have a specific candle wax wich causes dripping when use decal transfer paper. So only the ink on the candle would be perfect

Yes, you can. The metallic will be quite durable against the candle wax. You cannot make it film-free (self-weeding) though. To do that you have to fire the decal at high temperature, to which the candle will not survive.

Can I use this to make small decals for 1/18 scale model cars? For example can I make a car logo of letters of 2mm height (like J A G U A R , or P O R S C H E ). Also small white stickers on wind screens.

hi, midasracer Yes, that's fine. Smaller the images, it's much easier to work with. You might need tweezers though to move around the film. To apply white letters, you just have to choose the white film option. Hope that answers your question.

Hi, I notice at 3:49 that after you remove film, you can still see the glue very clearly, is there a way to remove the glue? Can you rub with alcohol after drying to remove glue but leave image? Thanks.

Hi, James Yes, you can remove the glue with rubbing alcohol. We have developed a new type called "Multi-Use", which makes the ink durable against rubbing alcohol. It is already available on Ebay and will be on Amazon quite soon. Thank you Jimmy

Then, you want to check if you are using a right laminator. We always recommend a laminator with at least 6 rollers. :)

Hello, ibkizzle Umm.. actually the gift box is tricky because it absorbs water before you can apply the decal properly. So the answer is no, sorry.

Hello, I need to apply a gold decal with black lettering on it. After I have transferred the gold design to the blue decal paper, can I take this blue decal paper and run it through my laser printer again to print in black on top of the gold?

Hello, Kai! Actually that is a very good question. However, we don't have any ways to express or print black lettering on top of the gold. We will take your suggestion and certainly consider it for our next R&D project! If you really want the lettering, perhaps the only way is to use standard laser printer and apply the decal on top of the sealed gold. I do not recommend using another film-free on top of the metallic because the gold can come off when you remove the foil. Thank you.

@@SUNNYSCOPA - what would happen if, after doing the first lamination, and peeling off the gold foil layer, I took it and ran it through a laser printer to print in black on top of the gold. Would the gold foil survive going through the printer?

Hi, If you buy it from the US, most of them should take 8.5 x 11 sheets. They are the standard size in the US so I don't see how the laminators would not take 8.5 x 11 sheets. Thanks Jimmy

Also, what is the difference between Type A and Type B paper? Is the blue paper Type A or Type B?

Laura, The Type A is for the glossy, hard surfaces and the B is for porous surfaces. They also use different glues to assist adhesion; watery, transparent Glue W1 for the A type and white, viscous Glue W2 for the B type. You also have to cure the image with heat for Type A and with the B, this heating is not required. The downside with the B type is that it could leave glue residue once it dries. The blue paper is neither actually. It has nothing to do with the Type A or B. They are actually blank decal papers specially designed to work with the Film-Free Metallic products.
