How do you download/export list of email addresses in Google groups to a Spreadsheet ? Is there a Video on that? Could not find!

*_This is like a/the Yahoogroups 90's in the 2020's. I feel at home already by default being a Google user. Thanks for sharing this, Scott. But wait, didn't Google have this already sometime back? Did they "kill" it and bring it back again?_*

Yes, it does have a bit of a retro feel! I'm not sure if it ever really went away, but certainly is new to many of us!

When I try to send my group email, which is just a couple of paragraphs, I get an error pop up saying my message is too long; thoughts or suggestions?

I am wanting to set up a parent group so this is a great way to hide emails and maintain confidentiality. Is there a way to set it up that I am the only one that can view replies. I do not want "reply to all" as an option due to confidentiality.
@Simpletivity11 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comments! As for your question, you could always add the Google Groups email address to the BCC line. That way, no one else would ever see that address.
@gwenmcvey573511 ай бұрын
@@Simpletivity that makes sense. Is there a way to prevent the group from seeing the reply or the conversation?
@Simpletivity11 ай бұрын
Yes, within the Group Settings (either when you set it up or after), you can change the 'Who can view conversations' to Group Owners (and not Members).

Question: I sent a mail using the created group ID on Gmail. Mail is there on the sent list but not reflecting in the Gmail inbox. Is there any solution for this? Thanks.
@Simpletivity5 ай бұрын
To prevent clutter, Gmail doesn't deliver messages that you send to your own alias (or to a Group you belong to) to your inbox. You can find the message in Sent Mail or All Mail. To get these messages in your inbox, set up the alias or Group as an alternate "Send mail as" address for your account.

google group reply all not getting through to the group. Anyone have a solution

I didn't hear THE most important aspect, that recipients don't see each others' email addresses, which the label method at the start did. THAT is how spam begins. Just one evil recipient decides to make a few cents selling them. And once your address hits ANY spammer, it can potentially be resold to ALL spammers. So WHATEVER solution you choose for mailing to multiple addresses; make sure they're CONCEALED. (Besides, you can separately share group members' emails **selectively** to known trusted individuals, perhaps only with consent.)

And I'm mistaken, I did hear the concealment feature mentioned at least twice. My bad. This is a great tip. I had absolutely not even the remotest knowledge of the existence of googlegroups !!

Yes, the ability to hide other users email addresses is a key feature of Google Groups!
@MarjanVenema7 ай бұрын
Ever heard of putting them in the BCC field? That hides them all too.
@Bill_Woo7 ай бұрын
@@MarjanVenema Of course. That's a beginner level technique. But it really is so powerful, and effective, that it bears repeating since so many fail to embrace what it achieves. So it's fine that you cite that topic. I just assumed everyone already knows that so I concentrated on tool techniques.

I keep importing multiple contacts using a cv file but how do I import into the group label I made for it. Also only first names come up although all their information is in there
@Simpletivity3 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, Google Groups does not have a built-in feature to directly import contacts into a pre-existing group/label. As for only First Names showing up, this likely has to do with how your CSV file is formatted. Here's how to check and fix it: CSV Structure: Open your CSV file. Make sure you have columns like these: "First Name" "Last Name" "Email" Check for Merged Cells: Make sure first and last names aren't accidentally in a single combined cell. Re-import: If necessary, correct your CSV file's structure and re-import it into Google Contacts.

For a site that centers itself on simplicity this is not that. And it had a paid add to go with it. Disliked. It should have been three clicks with an example and 2 mins long. Jesus...
