I think applying the dust directly gives a better look on coloured fondant

Thank you for this great video. Here in Australia you can buy a small bottle of clear extract that has no taste and it's perfect with the glitter. Well, it's made to go with it! Also, you can try using vodka, even if you don't like it, because you can buy one of those tiny bottles that you find in hotel room bars, they don't cost much and you can't taste the vodka anyway as it evaporates.

Hey! Thank you for watching from Australia, how cool! I actually made a recent video comparing vodka vs. clear extract, I use to not like it but now I do haha. Its a good tip for people who don´t like it! x

Let your fondant dry for 20 hours first for tiny decorations like this. Should be easier and faster for the dust to apply either evenly and or faster after “rewetting” the decorations.

Would luster dust be also good if I coat it on moulds? Or could it also work like cocoa butter with making it easy to get out bonbon moulds? I just want to make shiny dark chocolate coating and brighten the exact color/brand/dust you have(i got Wilton's Gold) on dark chocolate. so idk how to make things pop or shiny. But willing to buy cocoa butter if must. I am using silicone moulds
@itsRenee
@itsRenee Жыл бұрын
Sounds cute, I´ve never done that before, luster dust looks like it could potentially work for that and if you are using a silicone mold, those are easier to use than plastic ones, I´d honestly just give it a try in a couple of them, so if it doesn´t work you didn´t waste a lot of product. Sorry I wasn´t really helpful. Hope it is a success!

We don't care for the taste of Fondant. Would this work on naked sugar cookies as opposed to flooding with RI, Glaze or Buttercream? Thanks
@itsRenee
@itsRenee Жыл бұрын
Hi! i get it, fondant can be very sweet and have an after taste. I ´ve never decorated a naked sugar cookie like that before, so I would´t really know, but I´d just make sure the cookie looks as light as possible, so you can actually see the decor. As for using luster over the cookie itself probably it won´t look as visible because you are working over a yellowish porous area vs. flat white area, if that makes sense. It´ll probably depend on how pigmented your luster dust is. I hope this helped!

@@itsRenee Hi and Thanks for the reply! I agree, over a naked cookie might not be the best. I'll have to experiment.
