Hello Kevin, Does the excel format type have any effect on this? The files I receive are coming in csv format.

Again, does power query work with files containing formulae (Vlookup, Xlookup etc)?

Referring to oneself as an exec invokes the curious golden retriever head tilt… add to it the notion that power query would transform my day to day activity gets the full on head twist plus bs bark.

I think there is some lies in your comment. I do not believe someone mentioning that his dealing with large data while working in accounting job and somehow from a vdo from youtube it makes your life easier. I would believe if it’s from someone is learning power query and still in learning process.

Wow - as someone who has seen various people at work rocking power queries, I thought it was a step I didn't have the energy for after getting to grips with everything from pivot tables through to writing decently long VBA code. Little did I know how "easy" and powerful this is. My company has finally settled on some standards across the organisation and is moving to Power BI and SQL, so I needed to find a good resource to get started and this is it (I came here from your Power BI intro video). Thanks, you're a good teacher and hopefully my comment helps the algorithm.

Starting to advance my excel skills from simple formulas and heard about this power query. It looks very useful and will definitely try. Most of all, your instructions are by far better than any other instructions I’ve watched on any web sources. Very detailed, soft spoken, very good pace and visual. Just followed this along on my freshly downloaded 365. Delighted to say it worked flawlessly. A few years ago, I done levels 1 to 3 training courses in Excel (and others). We didn't even touch Pivot Tables. This is like level 5 or beyond.Subscribed and liked. I'll go through your other videos and save the ones that interest me the most in my favourites folder.👍

Very good presentation. The pace of your delivery is quite fast which keeps me engaged. I'm a big fan of Power Query but use it with Excel linked to SQL views that I've created. I do most of the basic design in SQL but still find PQ useful for tidying up. My SQL views often have few filters in them because I use the filter tools in PQ. Good for 'Advanced' users but not suitable for 'Normal' people. I need to learn more!

Power Query is a game changer. I've used it for a few years and it's now a must have. It can do most if not all things that other 3rd party apps can do and it's doesn't have an additional cost. Thanks for promoting it.

Both are programming languages."Programming" in Power Query is structured - you choose steps & can see the results at each step. Macros are a blank sheet of paper.

Thanks for the video! Just transitioned accounting software. Old software we used ODBC to pull data into Excel. New software won't let us use ODBC, so this has been immensely helpful to rebuild the tools we already had in place.

Great intro explanation! The SME in my area directed to go watch some KZfaq videos first. This one was perfect. Then we talked and I picked up tips specific to how I was getting my data. I am now tasked with training my colleagues. I'm sending them this link as a pre-requisite to my demonstration. Thank you for such amazing videos Kevin!!! Over the last year I really started to use and utilize all of the "free" tools that comes with Microsoft 365 Enterprise such as Forms, Automative, Flows etc. I just started looking into learning and understanding PowerBI and Power Query and those two videos really inspired me to work on my skills to work smarter and faster! I'm gonna try to help my company use desktop Automative a lot more to remove as many manual process as possible in the near future! So thank you for sharing and please keep updating and slowly digging deep into the endless opportunities between PowerBI and Power Query. I really want to learn to build powerful and easy understandable Dashboards.

Wow!!! I got to see the real essence of using power query in which I hadn't used it when I consolidate the data. I had a lot of pains doing the report and it took me the whole working hours to finish cleaning it. Why the earth has made my days so bloody when there is such a video teaching this technique.
