how to use midi channels for different instruments? midi channels explained

this is how you can use midi channels to trigger different instruments in one fl studio piano roll. this functionality isn't possible in ableton, even though midi channels are part of the gm (general midi) standardization.
most of the music in this video is made by me, except for the two listed below

I made this cause no one did a vid on this feature yet for some reason. instead, I see most people using the channels in the "channel rack" of fl studio, to utilize multiple instruments in one pattern. that is effective, but time consuming to work in. setting up midi channels allows you to work and edit your project much more quickly. try it out!

You don't need to add a second instance of color mapper for 5 through 16. You can just enable the checkbox for the channels in the "output/events" section. If you select "activate all", it'll open all 16 of them.

how do you route them to instruments though? I feel this instructions is missing that bit. I also could not find this checkbox, maybe provide step by step navigation to this setting?

To make hardware sequencers send midi to different instruments in fl, use the method where you right click an instrument and assign it to a controller. Then right click the instrument and go into that same menu again and you'll be given the option to choose a specific midi channel. Leaving this here because I didn't find what I i was looking for and had to go on a wild goose chase haha

I forgot to add if you want to do samples without harmor, you should also be able to use directwave, which is a sampler plugin

Thank you very very much I wasn't able to find how to do this anywhere else. Just had an arpeggio and I would dread to click in each note one by one with a different midi channel selected. Also, your editing is phenomenal keep up the great work ツ
