It’s not only for local but those who are in different states of cities that are in the same states as you usually they will have the option underneath saying : either pick up or shipping

I just cancelled my OfferUp account. After a ukulele I had paid for arrived broken I got no refund, even though the seller immediately agreed to this; OfferUp said no refund because I didn't use the prepaid shipping label they sent me in time. When I informed them that I received no such label, they gave me, like 50 reasons why it was still my fault that I got no refund. I got some great deals prior to this, but burn me once and I'm gone.

I just looked it up and it is an alternative! Again, thank you so much for even bringing your experience up and deep apologizes with your experience. Mercari would have refunded you even despite if you have no shipping label I believe.

@@msv3630 Yes, you can set the app to show only items for sale that are shipped. I think it would be unwise to meet someone you don't know.

That's why I was wondering if OfferUp had an alternative for shipment because I don't believe in meeting up with strangers especially since there are a lot of crazy stories that occured where a lot ended up on the news using OfferUp, LetGo, and of course Craigslist. I'm a high advocate with just shipping and though Mercari has some cons now, it's always better and the only online market app that have done faster sales. Even better than Ebay! Using Offerup now with the shipping option but like I expected, people just looking and no sales. I think most buyers would mostly want to meet up but nope, not for me!

0% you get all the money if bought locally. Now that there’s shipping it takes a percentage depending on the weight and price of the item

Why does the app force me to put parts ads in as a whole car and then again it forced me to put my truck in as parts when it was a project because it didn’t like the price I listed it for?

I need help. Whenever someone asks me if the item is for sale still or they make an offer and I respond to them how come they never respond back? Why even bother if the item is still for sale? Like is it a glitch that they do respond and I'm not getting notified or is this normal? I've been using the app now for less than a week and I'm curious.

You don't have to. You can do the exchange in person and not pay before you are happy. But eBay for example is exactly that way. You pay and then you get the product.

The issue with this is that people will pay for shipping item more than they would meet to buy. I don't do shipping because I don't want to do all that mailing process. Just be direct and meet the buyer and sell

OfferUp has no customer service at all. They cancelled an order I shipped after I shipped it. They provided me a link with tracking showing that it shipped, but OfferUp then said I never shipped it. Emailed them numerous times and only got auto responses every time......nothing more. The number is just a recording too. So the customer got his item and I did not get paid for it. The BBB has a ton of complaints about these guys' lack of customer service. So be warned, if you buy or sell on OfferUp, you are on your own.

1: Users send messages looking to hook up 2: Got robbed by buyer at gun point 3: Too many flakes 4: If you report no-shows; Offerup will force you to send a copy of your id, ssn & personal information via TruYou. 5: Their servers got hacked and my informant was stolen. Now I am dealing with identity theft issues on my credit since they didn't protect my information and cannot obtain credit. 6: Customer service will not respond to any of my messages. 7: Bots and ghost accounts 8: Nonworking app
